I just want to see the KDF and Rom's get a T6 sci ship. would be there first T6 sci ship. The feds have several T6 sci ships do they really need another ? As for Dyson ships rofl given cryptics cries they never sold very well to begin with... Doubt we ever see them get a T6 upgrade. Cryptic would have no motivation to waste the resources into a ship that didn't sell well the last go round.
If they do release another tier 6 science ship i am kinda hoping it is a research or advanced research science vessal, which i would hope to see the kdf get a Fersian science ship that might showcase tier latent psionic abilties.
Almost certainly actually a reference to the Roman Emperor Hadrian. Noted for his travels, Hadrian's name actually seems best for a high endurance cruiser (though long-term/deep space science also make sense).
All that said, I'm hopeful for a nine ship, cross-faction science vessel bundle. I'm more excited about that prospect than even a flagship dreadnaught bundle.
We are not discussing the KDF and Romulon science ship thing in this thread it has been done to death! If you wanna complain abut not having enough science ships there are like five other threads open so stop derailing this one!
Now on to the topic at hand. As always, I am thrilled to get more science ships especially a T6 Vesta or T6 Dyson.
I can see a T6 Vesta, along with the other faction's counterparts...
A nice idea. But I don't have the faith you do that it's going to happen. The Vestas? Sure! I'd put a lot of blue chips on the poker table about that. Counterparts? I'd have to fold.

What about T6 Dysons? the KDF and RRF both have versions of the Dyson Destroyers.

He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

Are they really going ahead with releasing a T6 3-pack of existing T5 3-packs? What would be the incentive for new players of ever buying the T5 3-packs then, nevermind 9-pack cross faction bundles? Console set bonuses would be on overload considering even 3 console sets are really excessive in comparison to good gear.
If it's a Vesta pack, would they come without aux-phaser DHC? That would still cut in on the T5 pack sales as only one would be needed for that, and considering the state of cannons and all their clear disadvantages vs beams (any word on the proc fix with embassy consoles yet? I'm still testing whether Rapid mods completely break firing cycles with CRF/CSV) I don't see that being very attractive anyways - although considering the competency of the average pug groups I can see them selling anything at this point.
Also, mandatory: KDF & Rom have a grand combined total of 0 C-Store T6 Sci ships, and more on the Fed side only would go completely counter to the KDF-rallying during the Iconian war, the cross-faction bundle releases, and the Admiralty system.
I'm hoping for a T6 Nebula (the Terrans use them very prominently as well), coming in a three pack with a T6 Gorn support vessel (at least that's what the Varanus is classified as) and a Romulan... what can we call it... Reconnaisance Warbird or something?

I agree with this, so long as some sci vessel customization options get new bits, like an Oberth with something other then that tube under it, or a Varanus with nacelles closer to the hollow space inbetween them.

Because they should name it after someone who has actually accomplished something besides being a story to tell your kids about how you can overcome odds and be anything you want.
There are plenty of real, accomplished scientists out there to names ships after.

While I'm also not too thrilled with the Fed-trolling you quoted before your own statement, unfortunately, KDF/Rom ships only get released with Fed versions of same if at all. In addition to that fact, I have no need to see any real equity in science between Feds and the other two. Instead, I'd be thankful indeed if the other two got 1 or 2 each. That is if they are well put together science ships, and one of the KDF is a Klingon ship, not Gorn. As for not selling well? Garbage scows passed off as science ships will sell like garbage scows.
Just to add my voice, yes while I would not read too much into the names (It's just a story to connect the episodes after all) I too would love for more sci ships. In the past the lack of Sci for KDF and ROM hasn't bothered me that much as I primarily play fed and my KDF and ROM toons tended to be tac and eng. But recently, after perfecting my fed sci and having a lot of fun with it, I decided to create a joined trill KDF sci. And now I have a much greater appreciation for this side of the STO's community's frustration. Right now I'm just grateful I at least have access to the Sarr Theln. Its not quite what I want for that charcter but at least its T6 and has a Cmd Sci. So, again, while this article may have nothing to do with new sci ships for any faction, I will still keep my fingers crossed in general that someday they will come.

I'm betting on a 3-pack similar to valiant/kor/malem.
I'd buy it. I personally dislike 9-packs since I'm not gonna actually use all of them. I't like 1 ship for the price of 3.

even if you don't use the ship itself, it's not like it's going to waste anymore thanks to the cards

t6 dyson sci ship is intriguing, but I think it already exsist. the next best thing is the T^ FleetVesta
Yep, I'd like one of those too,.... AND a T6 Luna classAND a T6 Nova class AND a T6 Nebula .... A T6 Mirror Warship Intrepid class would be real nifty too
Yeah, I know I sound a bit needy
The klingons and Romulans should get some cool ships too.
See, I'm thinking of others too.....
Maybe the winter event will offer something interesting and really sciencey.

Nope, we already pretty much know what the winter ship will be (Thank you admiralty system "one time use" card slip-up ) And while I think it will be a cool ship, it isn't likely to be sci heavy. Especially since the Sarr Theln, last year's ship, had a Cmd Sci.

Oh, I'm well aware of that. Rom/KDF fans don't want equal numbers of SCI vessels. We'd be happy to get /one/. The fact that it is not a foregone conclusion that it'll happen at all is the travesty.

Well it would have to be at least flexible enough so that all players careers would feel compelled to participate in the event,, would it not?
My sci character is in his Annorax, so he probably won't be leaving it sometime soon, BUT I doubt I'll be let off the hook that easily if the trend of past events continues.
The winter event is all about participation after all, right ? OR am I just deluding myself and clutching at straws ? Been known to do that...

Well, in the past event ships always leaned to just one career, so I'm not sure why this would be different. The Chell was engi, the Plesh was tac, the Sarr was sci. The corvette was tac, the luxury liner was engi and the Samsar was engi as well. Admittedly, the Nandi is a bit more flexible (Between Sci and Tac), but still has its definite strong suits and the Dyson ships are just, shall we say... "unique." Sure, a good player can make any ship work for any career, but that dosen't mean a ship is "universal" per say as it will always have a single Cmd level seat which leans it toward tac, engi, or sci. And as most players A: collect ships or at least their consoles for sets, B: have at least one toon of each profession (And you only need to grind once to unlock it for all anyway) and C: just like holiday events (I'm in this category as I never get tired of my yearly dose of animated gingerbread men, annoying Epohh lady, and borg snowmen ) I doubt having a ship that dosen't match one's favorite professon would really hurt turn out. After all, we all know it runs in cycles and if we don't get the type of ship we like now, it will probably come within the next two events. (Anniversary or Summer)
But to get into specifics, what this ship will exactly cater to is unknown for now. We have not had a Sci heavy holiday ship since the Sarr Thlen, which is a point in favor of sci, however I doubt they would make two winter ships, let alone the fact that both are Breen, be sci heavy in two back to back years. And second, if the admiralty card I mentioned is legit, the ship will be engi heavy and a dreadnaught. Now, as you know from your Annorax, a Sci-Dread is now not without precident. But given the fact that most other Dreads are tac or engi heavy, I'm afraid its less likely. Which is too bad because my Trill KDF would love a Sci dreadnaught, but I'm probaby never going to get my hands on an Annorax and I just don't see it happening this winter's ship either. Still, I'd really love to be proven wrong on either of those statements.

so feds get more science while the other 2 factions get none?
