So I had been told that to take a screenshot you needed to push the "print screen" or "prtsc" button but this seems to do nothing, it brings up no "save to" menu or anything like that. What am I missing?
To my knowledge, on a regular computer you would have to then open something like Microsoft Paint and then paste your screenshot there. If there is another method someone else can enlighten us.
I wish it was as easy as a cell phone, just hold a button and you hear a sound fx of a camera and a screen fx of a save screen and it goes straight to a photo file.
I hit print screen it goes to the STO directory folder for screenshots, same with other games (goes to their screen shot folder). There is no pop up conformation.
If you want with/without UI, or make JPG, then go to this page for the comands to take screen shots through the game.
The important thing to know might be that the screenshots are stored in the game's installation folder. There is a subdirectory there, I believe aptly named "screenshots", that will hold the images.
The Print-Screen or prtsc Key screenshot-taking is otherwise a generic Windows feature, and it stores the image in the clipboard, which means image handling software can generally insert it with CTRL-V.
