Counterpoint's Terran vessels are stronger than their Mirror Invasion counterparts for sure. Certain vessels in Counterpoint do not appear in the Mirror Invasion as well. In terms of overall structure, I think the Mirror Invasion is easier. Just run Mirror Invasion until the event ends, and then go back to Counterpoint imo. Or just cycle between the two if you really want to pile up the marks.
My experience. Take a freshly level 50 toon into MI with a decent free T5 ships setup but absolutely no specs, rep stuff, rep traits, starship traits yada yada yada and do fine. Take that same toon into counterpoint and get wrecked. They hit much harder in counterpoint, there's more science ships messing you up and they all have more hit points etc. Need to stick to the edges and pick off ships.
My Level 60 with mostly MK XIV non epic stuff, rep traits, just intel spec tree at this point, no "good" starship traits or using any of the DPS meta really as I'm currently using the Nandi. Cakewalk MI, have to really pay attention in Counterpoint but do fine.
Counterpoint is pretty decent, and slightly more tougher, but it only takes 1 person to AFK in Mirror to make it a real pain and you get swamped.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

This is just in the normal queues.
That, or 1 - 4 no dps players to net the same results!!!
