Why Aren't Lifetime Subscriptions Offered In C-STORE?

This might be a dumb question, but why aren't lifetime subscriptions offered in the C-STORE? I can't help but think that some people might be willing to buy such subscriptions via Steam who are otherwise unwilling.

    Probably because it'd be possible to get them for free by changing Dilithium to Zen, and then getting the Zen back from the monthly stipend. Take ages mind you.
