Stop giving me Evaluate Human Bridge Officer assignments on New Romulus!

vTkiPiI.png

I think I'm closing in on 10 months since I've had a Romulan Bridge Officer assignment (let alone Reman). I'm on freakin' New Romulus and I'm getting almost every species but Romulan! I've even had a very rare Ferengi.

If I wanted Human boffs I'd go to Sol, but I want Romulans so I go to Romulan space (duh right?). You'd think in New Romulus Command I'd find at least one Romulan boff in 10 months. I used to find them. They were about as rare as the human assignments I'm finding now.

Did they move the Romulan and Reman assignments somewhere else? Are Romulans in Sol now and Humans in Romulan space?

Ugh.

I agree with your assessment, I have two romulan toons, and I have never personally seen a romulan bridge officer doff project.

They must be broken. There's no way they're this rare. There's no way it's normal or intended I'm getting human assignments all the time on New Romulus but never romulan, when it used to be the opposite.

OP, this sadly has been the case since Profits rising was released last fall... I've gotten one romulan boff project pop and that was July 2014. Since that time it's all humans, vulcan,s betazoids, and ferengi.... Seems cryptic doesn't care about any faction outside the federation. Wish this wasn't the case but that's the perception they cast.

I'd at least like it if the Human BOff recruitment has the UFP logo attached to it, unless the fleet advertised in my sig is now ingame canon. >:)

There are Rom and Reman Boff assignments out there. But not In Romulan command or near New Romulus. Look near Japori, Acamar, Gamma Eridon - thats the last places i remember to get that missions.
nice u wasted so much time in your sig - i do not see it anyway :)

I don't think personal assignments change depending on where on a map you are, only on what map you're on, so like New Romulus Command will differ from the beta quadrant but everywhere in the beta quadrant will be the same.

And so far the space instance around New Romulus has been the same as the beta quadrant.

Unless you mean the assignments aren't personal anymore?

I agree with OP, it's a disgrace really. But on the other hand, remembering how the klingon faction was treated when STO launched I'm no surprised imho.

Why fix bugs and add logical functionalities to other faction when you can have another lockbock or lotery (promo forgive me).

I didn't play Romulan when the faction started but made one for the first time few weeks back.

    - I had hard time swalowing the whole alliance stuff with either FED and KDF, but since I knew it exists, the disappoinment was not that big
    - I have seen no romulan specific bridge officer assigment
    - I have seen no romulan specific asylum / exchange doff assigments
    - colonists are feds, so i guess the final rewards for nebulas will also be feds, great i need more tellarites and andorians on my ship
    - special "romulan only" doffs have actually fed icon (Rai) :o
    - same goes for doff rewards like "Law"
    - doffing at command center produces fed doffs 50% of the time, I would have bigger chance to win a promo ship than to get a purple romulan
    - no resolve trait on romulan doffs
    - so far no reman doff from the grinder...
    - looking for romulan doffs on exchange is pain, because there is no filter
    - and I could go further...all in all, the romulan immersion is pretty destroyed by these details, making several ship purchases unlikely (at least for me)

The only redeeming quality is the story, which is actually well thought and well-done, compared to some of the fed nonsense with the typical deux ex machina ending. But you can finish it in a week or so.

I wonder if the new admirality system will treat Romulans the same way, no unique assigments, all based on feds/kdf.

Was there ever any doubt about that? Becasue cryptic decided to make roms no full faction but a fRaction it will never be any different. If it weren't for the singularitiy cores and SRO traits it would just be a second klingon faction with slightly different visusals. Though I guess that's already the case from the devs view.

I just noticed this thread now and posted the link below several hours earlier. I suggested they open up an option additional Romulan Character option, in much the same fashion that Worf expanded options for Klingons in the Federation...

    1. Allow Romulan's to buy a Vulcan Playable Romulan Republic Captain.
    2. Provide options for Romulan's to earn more Romulan, Reman or Vulcan Bridge / Duty Officers as a result of Rare or Very Rare Duty Officer mission rewards in addition to the Faction were allied on--since we want to be allied not dependant upon them.

Actually the BOFF recruit missions were always available in NRC and in the area near new romulus/azure nebula but no where else. I dont know if they expanded it when they revamped sector space but since their 'auto navigate' is usually WAY off where you are trying to go its likely the area you can get this in sector space is also way off

    edit:
there have always been certain doff missions you could only get in certain areas, and others that randomly pop up in several spots

I'd add an Orion option for Klingon allied Roms..or better yet, a Haakonan option.

But not personal missions? I'm having a hard time remembering personal missions that I had to be in a certain area to find. It was always the academy + ESD/Qonos for one set of personal missions and sector space for another other slightly different one (there may be an extra mission or two), and that's it.

I don't remember if DS9 had a different set, or Bajor/Vulcan/Risa etc. I just can't remember. I only remember Current Map assignments changing much according to area, and Current Map is not where you find Evaluate Bridge Officer missions, or at least I've never seen one in the Current Map list.

Always check the 'Personal Missions' tab - that is where I see the Rom/Reman 'evaluate' missions 95% of the time. And yes, it is only available at the Command Center on New Romulus, or in sector space in the New Romulus area. And that one is assuming the sector space revamp didn't break it - I can't recall seeing one in sector space since the revamp, but that could simply be due to the extreme rarity of the mission and my usually poor luck with the RNG.

As for that mission rarity, Borticus mentioned in a post long ago that this was very much intentional. This was back when they were fixing it because there was about a 6 month period where is was completely broken and unavailable.

For the first time since my romulan toon is alive (like 2 weeks) I have seen evalute romulan science bridge officer doff assigment. So they do exist. Was in Comand Center on New Romulus.

I actually got one myself :) It's been about 10 months and I found one.

Didn't have SRO though or anything useful except subterfuge. It was a totally worthless boff. I used it to create a manual.

The point stands though that around New Romulus we Romulans should be finding more Romulan boff assignments than Human. It should actually work like that for all species with a system represented ingame, like if you wanted Human, Vulcan or Andorian you hang out in Vulcan space, if you want a very rare Ferengi you hang out around around Ferenginar (is that Breen space? Can't tell looking at the map right now), if you want a Bajoran you hang out near the border of Caradassian and Federation space, etc. All the species that don't have systems can be interspersed like they are now.

this seems better now, i have had 3 romulan boff assignments: 1 with SRO. but no reman assignments, in fact i play at this game since 2 years, and i have never had a reman assignment.
