Bug fixes and QoL improvements should be anyway, not as the new expansion. As a new expansion I would have liked the expansion of alpha quadrant - two ground maps: Cardassia and Ferenginar, at least the same size as Bajor:Hathon , a huge amount of quests there, new playable species: cardassians and jem'hadars (currently is very difficult to create a proper jem'hadar alien in the character creator), increased breen threat (space breen encounters- red alerts), the new AI foe ( I admit that I like the terminator and BSG Galactica )- the race of machines that created V'ger and probably the borg too , explanation of origin the borg ; cardassian story arc major overhaul or better the entire new story arc and deletion what is now (my delta recruit was disgusted when he had to do it again)
We all play this game and want it as enjoyable as it can be. We get new contend multiple times over a year but at the end of the day most I know play ISA anyway.
By all means and above all there should be quality of live improvements which make the game less grindy and more alt friendly.
I think slowly Cryptic is doing it. Hope they continue.
When I play a game and see it as my hobby I just want to have some relaxing and creative fun. If it is and I feel well I never have any problems spending my money on it.
If it’s a stressful, annoying experience I look for something else.

When I first joined the game, it was because I saw all the excitement around the Dominion arc...I was so surprised when that wasn't continued! In the novels, DS9 was destroyed and a new version was build...basically the same design. And I still maintain that instead of the Romulan twist, it should have been Cardassia, decimated by the Dominion assault, should have been the focus...

Say what you like about STO's plot at it's worst, but I am really glad it didn't follow the novels as they continue to fall into a cesspit of total idiocy with mary sue races and utterly vapid storylines and characters.
Also, rebuilt with the same design?
Sure. If the people working from the blueprints were in fact lobotomised Pakleds doing ALL of the pharmaceuticals.
Fixes and Balances are important, but content-wise I like to see more sandboxing that could be accomplished with a decent exploration system. Which very well could bring people back to STO.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Also, balance, fixes and quality of life improvements can(and should) occur alongside game-supporting content.

It looks like some of the original ideas for Deep Space Nine from the Deep Space Nine Companion. I think they were struggling back then with the design until someone said "let's cut the vertical rings" - and then they had it. The illustration shows why that was a good idea.
And it seems illogical that the Bajoran or the Federation would build a replacement of DS9 that shares any visual similarities with Cardassian design. Either build somethnig uniquely Bajoran (and not just somethnig based on Bajoran slave labor), or take a Federation Standard base.

Well, aside from the fact that a new storyline is a given, since the game isn't dying/dead... and that there's no real reason why they couldn't do a few of these at once...
That's just stupid. Why even keep the pylons, if you make rings out of them? Their purpose is to enable larger ships and ships with dorsal and ventral docking ports to dock because that isn't possible on the docking ring. You can barely dock on those vertical rings much less maneuver a Galaxy class between them.

I don't like that design at ALL.
I would be very disappointed if STO somehow went that way. However, I may be reading too much into his statements, but I get the impression @tacofangs cares too much about the original DS9 design to let that happen to us in the STO universe.

Depends what's meant by exploration, the old system was useless and no-one has come up with any system that's better than hand crafted missions.
I can't say I've seen many bugs that affect me in any way - never had a problem with server lag when everyone else did (might be the EU proxy), there have been a handful of little ones that would tend to get picked up a couple of patches later but in general for a MMO it's been about as good as any I've played. Whenever I see a list people make up they tend to be more things they'd like changed than actual bugs (or silly little ship/character model details).
I think the Foundry could be improved, especially in terms of usability (like multiple object selection, grouping of objects and lighting) and allowing people to create their own Fleet Actions/STFs.

There is no inidcation that Cryptic or Tacofangs ever wanted to replace Deep Space Nine with a different model. The interior needs a complete overhaul, sure, but the exterior? I guess I would not mind if they scaled it correctly, but I understand the reasons why they did not.
Replacing a TV Show canon base with a novelverse base thing really would not make sense. It's basically old Earth Space Dock all over again.
I mean, sure, it's an interesting design, but when I come to Earth in Star Trek, I want to get back to the real starbase.

It would be nice if they fixed the scale, however.
I've never believed their original justification for making DS9 comically large anyway, I've never talked to a single person who thinks it looks better as it is now.
I was both surprised and not surprised by the number of people that want to see this game fixed. Personally, I would have put overhauling in with fixing and re-balancing. There are so many things wrong with this game, that if fixed, would make it easier for players to consider long term investments in the game. I would like to get a lifetime sub; but, right now, with the way this game is, it just isn't worth it.
Edit: recently I started leveling up a Klingon character and OMG... so many things wrong, so many things. I could write a novel series out of the reports that I could compile on it.
So, with the new bug hunter initiative that Trendy and Cryptic have launched, I would say, with a lot of confidence that QoL and bug smashing will be coming to the fore. I can say certainly that the time line for bug fixes is likely not to change, because there is so much in finding, treating and implementing a bug fix without adversly affecting other systems, that it has to be a slow and methodical process.
Storyline
Well, Steve Riccosa and other members of the Dev team have confirmed that a new over-arcing story that takes new content well into 2016 has been confirmed and will be released as Season 11 progresses, so not worried about that at all.
Exploration
Al “CaptainGekko” Rivera has confirmed that a revamped exploration system is being explored (sorry for that pun), but it’s not something that’s coming too soon, as it’s a whole new tech that has to be researched, built and integrated into the game’s architecture. But you never know.
A new expansion: Gamma quadrant
I would…not be a fan of a new expansion as yet. With Legacy of Romulus and Delta Rising, I’m still finding new things every couple of days. I’d rather see a season without an expansion to make sure that I’m getting the most out of the game I can, before the tack on another section to learn about as well. Besides, the writers’ hands would be tied with a lot of the stories that they can tell due to the fact that the Dominion and Gamma Quadrant were fleshed out a lot in Deep Space 9.
A new Expansion: Mirror Universe
I hate the Mirror universe. I always thought it was a cop-out for story-telling purposes. Just a personal opinion on that one, and based on how well they wrapped the Iconian war, it’s safe to say that they could easily change my mind on this, but nah. Keep em as a side-plot for now.
Reworking/overhauling old stuff (missions, zones)
Again, this has been confirmed that the guys are working on a revamp for the Cardassian Arc, but will this drop with Season 11? I don’t think so, but I could be wrong on that one.
Overall, I’d love to see a little of everything, but I think that Cryptic and PWE are taking most of the steps that you’ve mentioned anyway. Let’s see what comes of it.

Development of Season 11 is already done or nearly done, they are probably making the new season 12 development calendar right now, so I'm hoping someone from the developing team reads this and takes players' opinions into account.
The story isn't over, as Season 11 starts all new story. I say keep new stuff coming out to keep us wanting to play. And fix bugs and older issues along the way. Just shutting the game off for a while just to fix issues isn't the good way to do it. At least they are working on them and giving us new fixes per week. As it shows they are addressing issues.

You can create as much content as you want but without balance, fixes and quality of life improvements this game would die. Case in point see what they did last weekend when server was brought down or the Cogent issues?
-fix up the ton of ship texture and customization errors
-Get back to treks roots where the faction home worlds play a role , Ferenginar , Cait , Gornar , Ferasa , Nausicaa ect.
-Fersan and other species ships added
-Romulan equivalent of Omega gear
-Political wrangling trek wasn't just about exploring and disintegrating things with phasers. Governments and cultures played a role too which STO seems almost devoid of at this point.
-More combat pets and not ones that consume item on use.

Re-modelling the Caitians like they did with the Gorn.
