Ok this needs to be fixed ASAP. Every social zone is flooded with them and they wont go out. Its bogging down my PC every time I load into a ground map.
Yeah, this was discussed and dissected in a previously closed thread from the weekend...
Expect the same soon.

Disco Balls (Party Amplifer) threads
The items are obviously added to the game and aren't going anywhere. However, everytime people make threads about them they tend to turn into threads of flaming, trolling and harassment. As such, we aren't going to allow these threads anymore unless something changes with them.
Askray had just closed another thread about party amplifiers on Drozna station, and he cited the FCT as the reason for closing it.

The Subspace Party Nullifier is the best 100EC you'll ever spend in the game; I would have spent 1k dil for it, TBH...
yea that's not the problem, some people are doing this to crash other peoples computers which isn't fun nor fair
do you think that is fair to crash someone else computer?

Nope, there was no Iconian war because the folks in charge decided not to do anything outside of a handful of episode missions. Disco balls had nothing to do with it.
Mods, please merge these two pointless threads then close that merged thread. Thanks in advance.
Its actually a violation of the FCT.

Would threads about actual nullifiers, that remove the unnameable item from the area, be against the FCT?
This is my Risian Corvette. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

the Iconians finally made it to Drozana, but when they got there, they were presented with the light of truth, the light that purifies, the light of joy. Because they were wicked, and had hearts filled with hatred and malice, the light burned them, it drove them away.

Thus was the iconian war won and ended.
I couldn't decide, so I'll let others choose what my response to this should be:
A. I heard they got nullifiers and came back in force after those who placed them.
B. Funny how "the light that purifies" didn't make you any less full of it when you placed one.
C. Cool story, bro. You should tell it at parties.

The worst part of this exploit is now Devs will have to be more tight lipped about bugs and fixes going forward... I guess that's why we can't have nice things.
There is already a thread about this. And the bug fix is already in the works.
There is only one fix to this... and it's not code.
Just curious what you think the one way to fix it is? Because if I am not mistaken, it IS code, the items have an incorrect code that is making them permanent under a certain rare situation that some people have discovered and are using. Fix the code, fix the issue.
Ok this needs to be fixed ASAP. Every social zone is flooded with them and they wont go out. Its bogging down my PC every time I load into a ground map.
Are you running Windows 3.1 or something???
My boggo standard laptop (which is also 3.5 years old) running with its standard intel graphics card doessn't get lag no matter how many disco balls are deployed, so if you are seeing issues that I'm not, then your machine is the issue.
Get a new machine you cheapskate!
Normally I wouldn't be so assertive on forums, but people running ancient machines should know when it's time to upgrade. It wouldn't be STO's fault, it would be yours.

"I have sandwich, so you can't be hungry" is not a valid argument, and even if it was, there are a lot more things that impact lag than just the graphics card or the computer itself.
Also, you aren't being assertive; what you are doing is being a judgemental **** launching into a near irrelevant diatribe - you have no evidence (presented here, I accept it may exist elsewhere) that this person is A. a cheapskate, B. running a low spec computer, C. that the lag is actually the fault of their system; you could have the best stuff in the world and still get lag.
Being assertive would be politely saying "Look mate, lag can be caused by several things, one of which is the system you run; what are you running STO on? Does it meet the requirements to run STO, because if not you may find upgrading to a better system will fix the issue."
Edit - which the OP should probably at least check, the minimum spec for STO as listed is for the game at launch, not what it is up to today...
