Ground XP needs a boost.

Pretty much what the thread title says. I've historically been a ground heavy player, but since I've been focused on grinding the spec trees, I find it impossible to play ground missions anymore.

We need some XP relief, and one way of doing that is by bringing ground missions up to par with space missions.

    Agreed, ground game play seems to make like a fraction of the XP that space does, that is not fair at all to those who prefer ground missions. Should be equal!

    agreed. mainly because I spent a few hours ground pounding and was like er ok why bother with ground when space is ten times the rewards.

    The fact of the matter is that xp in general needs a boost, or at least, the xp gained past level 50. This spec point grind is, to put it bluntly, soul-crushing and frustrating. It's like trying to watch grass grow. I know that we're supposed to not watch the xp bar as we do our missions, but sometimes that just can't be helped. Either doubling the xp gained across the board, or chopping the xp required for levelling past 50 or gaining spec points at 60. The Tau Dewa mess is long gone, and I don't think the players should be punished any further because of the insanity that happened there.

    In my experience as a player who restarted the game with Delta Recruitement, 1-45 is really fast and 46-55 just good enough. 56-60 is not too bad with story content but I would appreciate a small boost, especially ground stuff.

    Yes - agreed. You fight as hard as you do in space ... sometimes harder ... but you only get a tiny little bit xp.

    All areas of the game need a xp boost. A fleet mate who took a break from the game before Delta Rising came back last weekend, he's up to level 57 from 50 but is ready to take another extended break from the game as he's feeling the burn from levelling.

    Leveling 50->60 feels too slow and bumpy. Spec points is more about mind set.
    Still ground awards far less xp then space and could use an increase.

    Agree with the OP but doubly agree that all of the tricks that have been used to make us think that we're getting XP relief is nonsense.

    To be honest, the only time that XP feels "right" is during Double XP weekends. And that sucks.

    Sorry guys, but cryptic doesn't sell "ground ships". They don't make money off of it, so they don't want you playing it.

    It would be nice to get some more XP points. At times ground takes as long as space for less XP...it needs a buff.
    However, most players do prefer Space over ground since space is very click and shoot friendlier....no much planning as in ground.

    I think particularly at this point that making ground more like space and bundling ground C-Store offerings more like ships would be a solid growth market option for them.

    I always said you want a solid theme option. Riker-themed clothes/beards/emotes/weapons/etc. as a ground bundle, for example.

    And if Ground can't be improved further in some key ways people have wanted like cover mechanics, then maybe sliding it to be closer to space with things like weapon arcs. Currently everything is basically a 360 degree weapon albeit with different ranges. Weapon arcs, directional shielding, and things like a runspeed slider could at least capitalize on space's popularity by porting more of it to ground, which might enhance the value of ground bundles.
