Dying much more quicker...

ccthrawnccthrawn Member Posts: 21 Arc User
Ever since the patch yesterday (and I had hoped this latest patch might ninja fix it...if it's a real issue) my shields have felt as if they are non-existent and I am dying left and right in STFs where normally the hits I'd take would barely make it through to the hull. Something seems really off when I'm popping 2-3 times in ISA compared to the 0-1 times I would pre-patch. Oh, and I haven't changed anything about my setup...

You are fighting the borg?? then it is completely normal your shields going down in miliseconds. Nothing changed in the last patch. But that has nothing to do with dying.. i almost never die in stfs (i find really hard to believe someone does..) , even if i dont have shields most of the time.. in ISA yesterday i didnt notice anything out of the ordinary.

Check if your traits are still equipped.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Shield drains in Borg stf's are very strong.
Not sure if its lag and some bad luck that gave you a poor outcome yesterday.

But in my case, I really don't pay too much attention to shields.
Instead I prefer to focus on having a solid hull. and high resistance rating.
Polarize Hull, Aux to Inertial Dampners (doffed +res on use), brace for impact (doffed + res on use)
Another good solution is to use a kinetic resist plate, I've got one at epic that give +50 kinetic resist. Combined with doffed Brace for impact and aux to inertial dampners, its more then enough to deal with the someties troubling Borg Torpedos, add Hazard emitters for plasma burn clearing.

I think you must've just had a bad round or two, maybe due to lag.
did you notice your skills not going off on use ?
Happens to me all the time these days.
Having a heal not go off, when its imperative, is really a pain in the neck, and can get you killed easily if you don't notice it.

Nice advise. I forgot that, traits are sometimes unslotted (a bug that was never fixed) by time to time.

Not noticed anything here, I rarely die in ISA myself, and even in my Vesta yesterday, I didn't die anymore than usual! lol.

If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
