So I think I have a plan on how to end the War in a non-paradoxical way...
As the Krenim have the ability to completely obliterate things from the timestream, one would assume they have the ability to move items through the timestream, no?
Now, imagine if we could simply take the Iconians, and their sphere, and all their heralds, and simply move them FORWARDS. To say, the 29th Century, when the technology of the Alpha Quadrant races is at a higher standard, and much more ready to deal with them (with the added bonus of knowing 400 years in advance that the Iconians will be reappearing at X location on X date).
If it was also desired, it might be possible (though time-consuming...pardon the pun) to go back to the battles with the Iconians, and take each ill-fated Alliance ship, right before it is about to explode, and bring it forward a few months, to a time when the Iconians have already been shifted forwards.
Think about it. The war still happened. The 3/4 of the fleet or whatever the figure is supposed to be that have been destroyed are still lost. Their crews still MIA. The pain, the suffering that the Alpha Quadrant has endured is still there. But the Iconian threat, as far as we are concerned, is gone. For now.
I accept that this a slightly 'The 2800'-esque, but if it is possible for the Krenim to do, why wouldn't it work? I'm not as clued up on canon as some so I may have missed something....looking forward to your thoughts.

Also I have a feeling like Cryptic is going to use the time-weapon-use to create their own timeline for future events. With the wespon used they would gain an excuse for pratically everything. They could remove species X, add species Y as a new super-power or other stuff like that.
Nog mentions something about the ship itself having a sort of temporal shielding, that made me think;
What if the ship, could invert that shielding, and place a temporal shield/forcefield around the Iconian Sphere, so that when the Krenim weapon is used, it would only erase whatever target was enveloped by this temporal shield bubble.
Thereby protecting everything else around said target.
Would that be enough to "isolate" whatever iconian target is chosen from the rest of the galaxy ?
Would we be able to erase anything within that bubble, without affecting anything that lies outside of the temporal bubble ?
Ideas ideas, this temporal stuff gives me a headache though seriously.
And I was under the impression that it was only possible to go back in time, and not forward to the future. Could be wrong though.
Interesting idea though OP, hadn't even considered that option, if it's possible.
Second, even if it were possible to move the Iconians through time, that act itself would apparently destroy them as they cannot handle the mental stresses associated with time travel.

Not unless they have their own temporal shielding. Then they'll be a "temporal anomoly" like Voyager was and BOOM... Captain Braxsten is back from the future to fix the mess we made.
His mission is our destruction. We must not resist!
(or so he says)
"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
I suppose, but I'm assuming that Iconians aren't able to use temporal shielding since, in Voyager's case, such shielding can cause a temporal disruption. The Pah-Wraiths attempted to use a temporal disruption to kill The Prophets. One could extrapolate that since Iconians are sensitive temporal tampering, that if their temporal shielding produced a temporal disruption, they could inadvertently destroy themselves.
