Trsnswarp computer worth using?

Is the bonus to warp core efficiency worth it's use in end game at all?

Nah and I get more damage from my Mk 14 borg console than the 2 piece from that console.

It's a fun console to have on your shuttle or in your inventory for a quick transwarp somewhere pig-1.gif

It dosen't work like that anymore. :/ That was the "Transwarp Drive Coil" console that originally came with the Tier 3 Excelsior. Now, new copies of the C-Store ship comes with a "Transwarp Computer" console that only has the passives. The abilities are now integrated into the actual ship instead.

Wha--? When did they change that? I have to check my EC-bought Excelsior once again. I cannot use the console to transwarp to unique locations any more? pig-32.gif

Just checked it. I am disappointed pig-12.gif

Yeah, sorry, I was editing my post to make it clearer, but I guess I wasn't fast enough. (Not to mention that embarassing misspelling of Transwarp. o:) ) Anyway, to reiterate, the "Bonus" transwarp powers are now integrated into the various Excelsiors, all the way up to the Resolute. And yes, it is rather an annoying change :/ , but not a super recent one. I'm not sure if they force deleted the old versions, so you may be lucky enough to still have a "Transwarp Drive Coil" console instead. If you do, don't ever let it go. ;)

Yeah, I checked it, it got the "computer" one. I haven't used it in ages, that's true. But it was fun back then, I don't understand why they would take away those locations - it doesn't make much sense. It's not that it was some OP exploit-feature or anything.

*sigh* - well, I still cling to my 300k EC Excelsior. A reminder of simpler times pig-2.gif

Well, at least the excelsiors themselves can still use the extra transwarp destinations. At first I though after the sector space update, these were gone too. However, if you click "Beta Quadrant" in an excelsior's transwarp destinations menu, you get a drop down menu with the old "extra" locations. (I assume the higher Tier ship with even more optional locations also does this, but I have not tried it.) Sadly, well to me at least other might not care, the old "Transwarp Velocity in 3..2..1.." voiceover does seem to be gone. :'( I know its silly, but I loved that. It reminded me of the movie.

P.S. To OP, I'm sorry we sort of hijacked your thread. :* To your question, I see the transwarp computer, especially without the transwarp abilities, as best used while leveling. After you have a few rep consoles that match your build, you can usually just discard it.

Yeah on my Tuffli and Cell Ship I have that T3 Console, the cool down Doff, and Omega Impulse. The last time I took them out the Omega Impulse was busted and gave no cool down as indicated. I don't know if they fixed it on the Sector Space update (the benefit was listed as a 200% reduction, it now says 100%). I don't remember if I used the Solanae Core for its 2 ly jump capability as well.

Was down to about two minutes on Transwarp and 40 or so seconds on hyperdrive.

The console from the T3 Excelsior has a set bonus with the console from the T6 excelsior. I don't remember the bonus off hand but it looks like it might be worthwhile to take.

The full Set 2 bonus is:
    "Hot Pursuit"
    "+15% Directed Energy Weapon Damage
10% recharge time on all Bridge Officer abilities"

I am not fond of the Transwarp Computer taking up a console slot. I prefer combat oriented consoles. But the bonus is interesting.
