Previous kit modules on Risa

Please let current and previous kit modules be available for later access? I am stressing out because I know that new toons and toons i haven't levelled or created yet will not be able to access these. Some of these kits are pretty cool.. plz let us access them later as well.

They will be in the event store. IFAIK there was no "previous" kits. I was here for last years event and I do not recall seeing any kits then. But everything I saw in the event store last year is still there this year, so I doubt you will have an issue with getting these kits on new toons once they unlock the summer store.

Unless I'm blind, last years winter kit modules aren't in the store.

For some reason, nothing from last year's Winter Event ever made it into the year-round Event rep store. I assume it is just an oversight, and they'll all be back there (with whatever is new for this year) come December.

For some reason, I keep thinking I read somewhere that certain items, like kits and the Greek Warp Core, were removed on purpose from the "always available" event store. Something about keeping them more limited edition. Still, it was also promised that they would return.

So to OP, the kits may go away until next year, but they will almost certainly be back. Further, if you liked those kits but are worried that a year is too long, remember Q's Winter Wonderland is only about four months away. And as I said above it also has kits and even ship gear. Perhaps there will even be new ones in addition this year. The sci kit in particular is really fun as its a "snow storm" version of exothermic reaction. Either way good luck and don't stress too much. There are many great kits and only so many slots to fill. :)

Yup, those items are specifically event releases, so cryptic removes em after the event ends. Anyways for the op, still your new characters will need to unlock the store to buy em, and to do that, the event must be on going..

I'd love to see a post or anything saying that. So far, only items from last year's Winter Event didn't make it into the store tab year-round. Both previous years' Summer and Winter Items are there now, and were there prior to this current Summer Event.

It was in a blog around the end of last holiday's events. The distinction made at the time was that the kits and warp core were special and they wanted to keep them as such. Last winter was the first time you could by "regular game" gear with winter currency. Don't get me wrong I'd love it if they were always available, and I was sad when I read the blog. But no I don't remember specifically where the info was from.

Also though, you are not entirely correct. Last year's new color floaters were not in the remaining store throughout last year. Only the first year's were. That I think was just a bug though as "event gear" is supposed to be always available once the store is unlocked.

I could have sworn the Floaters were there, but I doubt that I looked past the clothes, which definitely were. Seems strange that they would go to the length to exclude floaters, but leave clothes in for Summer, but just blanket remove everything from last year's Winter event: cores, kit modules, summonable turrets, and clothes. I get the feeling that what is in the store and what is not after an event might just be a case of oversights and overworked developers.

In the interest of clarity, the first year's floaters were there, just not the "new" ones from last summer. As such you may be partially right about some things being simply oversights. Still, while I cannot produce hard evidence, I honestly did read a statement about the warp cores and kits. It would be nice to have them year round though even for those who bought them already, as you can buy winter commodities on the exchange all year and because you never know when something might happen to the one you already have.

Special. Because the best way to attract new players is to tell them of all these "special" items they can never have. :/

Just seem such a waist on resources to make items that is removed access for a short period later. Players make new characters all the time .. It's just annoying to not be able to buy/get certain items.

Now that the event is over, everything new from this year is not in the store, pets, Targ Board, other new color boards, new color floaters (I think, could be last year's or this year's new colors in there), new outfits and kit modules. Perhaps it is a way to make them special, but it's also locking away everything from the event.

As far as floaters go, I'm afraid I don't pay much attention to them, so I can't tell you which year the new colors belong to, or whether they were available at the lowest type. Enhanced and Superior types are there. Since the first year, I've made the decision that my characters get the same color choices that Model T buyers got; any color they want, as long as it's black.

I know this response is rather late, but since the thread was already brought back to the main page... While I agree that having to wait a year (In the Case of Q's Wonderland now only about 4 months) for new alts to be able to purchase the "special" winter items is annoying, I'd hardly call such a wait "never." Nor are new players going to be kept from getting the items at this year's event as unlike the starships, the devs never said that the event kits or the warp core were being retired. They will be back, no "DOOM" or hyperbole necessary. ;)

The newer winter and summer event items were never meant to be removed and are coming back soon to the reputation store.

July 21, 2015 Tribble server patch notes: http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums#/discussion/1196444/tribble-maintenance-and-release-notes-july-21-2015
Restored access to new items that appeared in the Winter 2014 and Summer 2015 Events.

These were never meant to be limited time only, and are once again available for purchase from the Event Reputation Store.

Edit:As someone pointed out you can only unlock the event reputation store during the event because it requires you to contribute a single item to a reputation project and the project is removed when the event ends. The winter/summer kit modules and Breen warp core were character bound on acquire so you won't be able to get those for new characters. You can get non-combat pets and outfits then put them in your account bank and open them on new characters since those items aren't bound and can even be traded/sold.

Excellent news, and it pretty much confirms what I found when looking through official posts and blogs about the Winter Event, which was nothing regarding the items being removed from the store for any reason after the event ended.

I reported it as a bug right after last year's winter event had ended. Looks like I was right and it took them all this time to fix it. :|

I do have winter event ornaments I saved so I look forward to being able to buy frost colored winter coats for my delta recruits

That's good. Now if only they'd do the same for the ships and stuff...
