Shouldn't we be able to use the Morrigu Costume on the Valdore if we own it?

Wouldn't let me apply it says my character was too low.

Probably won't appreciate this thread either. Bad form.

Ok, now that I can actually see what the thread is about, I can say... yes.

As a general rule hull variants only go up, not down, And they don't always go up. The T'Liss is basically an older T'Varo, but it doesn't share skins. The D'Deridex(captain level) skin can be used on D'Ridthau(admiral), but not vice versa.

If you paid for the skin, you should be able to use it on any variant of the ship.

In case of the T'varo, its actually the other way around. The T'Varo is an ancient ship from the ENT era (episode "Minefield") and the T'Liss was the ship in TOS "Balance of Terror". Chonologically, the T'liss could be over 100 years newer.

Why is it excluded beyond T1? Because the devs hate anything TOS that isn't the Excelsior but cram all the ENT junkyard ships into the game at T5/6.

Really? Because I can apply my T6 Pathfinder skin to a T4 Intrepid just fine. And I can apply my T5 Armitage skin to a T2 Akira, and my Level 50 Patrol Escort Refit skin to a Level 40 Patrol Escort. These all work fine -- and yes, they work fine even at low levels, provided I have the relevant ship unlocked in the C-Store (which, obviously, I do).

Seems to me that, given this pattern, the Morrigu skin should work fine on a Valdore so long as OP owns the Morrigu.

I am pretty sure this worked for me when I got the Mogai. THough wait, I picked the (Tier 3?) Valdore, not the free Mogai? Maybe that's the difference?

Though kirimuffin's post suggest otherwise, if it works on his Tier 3 Akira - IIRC; there is no Tier 3 Akira Refit. Though... That is also a difference to the Mogai/Valdore/Morrigu setup.

I do own the Valdore, Mogai, and Morrigu. When my Romulan Delta reached 21 this past weekend, I picked the Valdore for zero Zen, then went to customization and it gave three skin options, Valdore, Mogai, and Morrigu. I picked the Morrigu and a dialog box appeared that stated it would cost 0 EC or 0 Zen. I clicked ok and it told me my character was not of sufficient rank to obtain it.

I will confirm again when I get home.

Aren't the mogai and morrigu, lvl 45-60 vessels?

Mogai is usable at every tier the ship is available. T6 Morrigu comes from... the T6 ship which is a Lv50 requirement.

I am not talking about using the ship just its skin. Confirmed. When I select to purchase the costume in the Ship 'Tailor' It brings up a Purchase Dialog Box listing Morrigu Heavy Warbird Free - 'Your outfit requires purchasing one or more outfit packs. These must be purchased individually using ZEN. Please press the 'Buy' button next to each item. When that is done, pressing 'OK' will spend the in-game currency.

Then the flash-by says 'Your character cannot use this item'. Yet when I pick the Mogai skin (Tier 5 ship) it happily goes through just fine.

Seems like a bug to me.
By the way I am now Level 29.66

The T'Varo is an older T'liss. Also, the D'Ridthau is also a Captain-level ship.

Oh, and yes, all variants can use all skins, with some exceptions such as the Envoy- and Celestial-class Exploration Cruisers, as their models lack saucer separation ability. For instance, you may use the Andromeda-class skin on the Venture-class frame.

Ok, so I just got to Level 30, so I picked the Long Range Science Vessel Refit and picked the Pathfinder skin (a T6 ship), no problem at all.

Armitage (T5) skin can be used on the Thunderchild (T3).

Right you are! I mixed up the tiers on that one. Thanks for the correction. T2 is Saber/Gladius, not Akira/Thunderchild. (It's been a while since I had a lowbie Fed tac, heh.)

The Armitage costume works on the T3 Akira too, though :P

I figured this would be the case, but it's nice to hear it confirmed! It's even more reason to get me an Andromeda when I have enough; it'll be a nice little bonus for when I next level up a Fed cruiser captain :3

I think that the key here is that I was able to apply a T6 skin on a lower level ship. To me that indicates that there is a bug here. I will post a bug in the Bug Forum as well.

I dont see any reason for not being able to use the morrigu skin on the Valdore. Probably its a bug. I also have both, the Valdore and the Morrigu, but still didnt try. Of course i can use the valdore skin on the Morrigu, but didnt try the other way around. Im too lazy right now to equip the Valdore and try it out.. lol.
