i take it as holodeck is normal play server, i signed up for testing, but didnt tried it actualy. where will be instaled redshirt/tribble server since install dont ask for isntal path ?
how it will affect holodeck install ?
since it want 16 gb for instaling of it and thats a lot of space.

Holodeck = Live Server (everything is real in there - Ironically compared to the name)
Tribble = Where most patches take place
Redshirt = (only opens when Tribble is being used for MAJOR updates aka Seasons, Sub-Seasons and Expansions)
where will be instaled redshirt/tribble server since install dont ask for isntal path ?
When downloading/patching Tribble or Redshirt it will create a folder with the test server files with-in the folder to which holodeck was downloaded to.... Example:
Note: yes you will be downloading several gigs of files if this is your 1st time trying out the test servers... "Although I'm not sure if Tribble is able to copy/paste the holodeck files to tribble so it dosen't re-download everything... hrmm
Anyways, most of us heavy test server tester just copy over what on the "Live" folder to the folder "playtest - beta" folders to skip most of the download. ~ I suggest doing that if you don't want to download all the files again... ^..^
What ever happens in Tribble will stay in Tribble... Normal holodeck gameplay will not be affected. THE ONLY way the install will be affected is that when tribble is up-to-date, holodeck will just copy over the "latest" files to the "live" folder, so you don't have to redownload the latest ones... ^..^
Edit: weee... 35.4% ... tribble is taking for ever to patch for me today...
so basicaly it will create one "megafolder" to hold all posible posibilities it is ifferent appochahc that some coplanys create separate folders for live and test servers, since having one megafolder can be problem if you lack space on live folder for that game.

Indeed, it will create a mega-folder "Star Trek Online" with the "Live - Playtest - Beta" sub-folder (Main reason why my STO folder is almost 50gigs... not enough to scratch my 1TB of space)

The tribble server will be installed wherever your Star Trek Online folder is, in a new folder that says Playtest.
As for how it'll affect the main server, it won't impact the install at all. However, when it comes time to do that patch for the next update (which the fleet holding will be part of), the files that get added on each patch of Tribble will be copied over to Holodeck. Therefore, it'll be worth while for you to keep Tribble patched up. It'll make the patch faster.
I'm definitely curious to see what all they're going to be offering there. Or more importantly, are they going to finally allow us to upgrade our kits and kit abilities for the new level of difficulty. Once they switched that over, my guy was definitely dealing less damage, so I don't know if that was a ninja nerf or what, but I want it gone.

Love how all new info comes out on Reddit. What was the point of spending all that money on these new Forums?
Because it's used for all their newer and more recent games. So instead of having to maintain 2 different forums; they just all use the same one. Simple economics.
As well, if you didn't already notice, the poster of the Reddit thread is one who did the digging themselves and posted the info on their preferred forum, with one comment from an STO Dev.
Anyone can do the digging; it's just a matter of where they want to share it, and it just so happens that that person preferred Reddit. If someone would rather share their findings on Twitter, Reddit, or some Star Trek fansites with an STO section, then they can by all means. We'll just get the information later, once an official thread goes up.
Also, the same thread mentioned that a Dev said it was still an early preview, so things are subject to change.

In answer to this part:
When you start patching Tribble and/or Redshirt for the first time, it will copy over files from Holodeck and will only download the updated files that are needed.
well, how to update tribble char to curently i have on holodeck ? since tribble char is still running at witer event, year q quotes were fun agant to read.
and how to join some fleet at tribble , looks that yo get fired from fleet when you go to tribble from holodeck.

1. Log in to Tribble and delete the old char.
2. Go to this link and copy over your updated char.
3. Done.
As for joining a Fleet on Tribble, I think there is still a Tribble Fleet. Your best bet is asking in the TTS channel in game.
so, kits and secondary deflector. OK. I was hoping for pets but I guess I'll take the deflector. There's so many universal kit modules in the game now it's a big enough candy store.

you say that now, but will you continue to say it after you see what the new holding has to offer?
I did notice that Cryptic's Tribble Test Fleet is full...
I'll be on tribble for a few mins checking out the stuff, but I do have my own test fleet "Section 31" pretty empty if anyone wants an invite to it to check out the new stuff...

That's just the thing though. Why do we have to DIG for info?
Seriously, if info is going to be released anyway, why not HERE?? Put it in an "Unofficial teaser, subject to change" section or something.
“This facility will offer many opportunities for players to explore and participate in the existing R&D system in new and rewarding ways.”
It would be nice if they fixed and finished the original R&D system before expanding it. We still cannot upgrade our projectile consoles with projectile tech. After spending a massive amount of resources upgrading mine launchers to gold/epic level we get given a useless ACC mod that does nothing on mines just two of many example that need fixing before an expansion.
At level 20 projectiles and I feel completely ripped off between the flat out broken system where I cannot upgrade my projectile items and the useless ACC mods making it worthless to upgrade and meaning we have wasted a massive amount of resources on upgrades.

No kidding right, we are going to need seperate bank space, just for freaking kit modules soon!
I'm disappointed no upgraded pets, I don't fly Science ships often, in fact I really only fly my Fleet T-U Corsair and once in a while my Breen T6 Carrier, so I have no use for a secondary deflector, I might have some use for the kits I guess, but honestly kits don't excite me.
What I really wanted was the next rarity up for my favourite pets.

You do know kit modules can be stored five slots each in white kits, right, assuming you have the right slots for them.

Doesn't look like upgrades directly. But a screenshot of the projects posted to Reddit shows mark 13 kit unlocks:

Check the middle column bottom two projects.

Are you guys able to see the stats on the kits and kit modules? (I would check myself, but I can't spare the space on my laptop to download tribble.)

Versitile kit frame?
Could it be that we are getting cross-profession kit slots?
One can only hope.

Actually all info is posted here on the forums, people just look for other ways to get it ... aka reddit.
