600Mb Update 201506.22 and Double ZEN Payment Alert!

thetaninethetanine Member Posts: 1,367 Arc User
Stardate 201506.22 (22 JUN 2015): When I opened my STO game launcher today via ARC, I got an 'Account Disconnected' alert.

I decided to try the stand alone launcher and I got in, but when the 'Patching' noticed flashed, I started getting a 596Mb in size game update. However, I don't see anything in the STO-FO-RUMs about any update.

Also, when I went to buy some ZEN via ARC, I got charged twice. Firefox also threw a Security Alert and denied me access to my STO account. I had to log in to my payment provider to see the records of the transactions.

It wasn't a lot of money, in total, but be warned! Something isn't working right. It could be Vanilla related. I don't know.

Whether I believe you or not is irrelevent. An issue like this should be reported through the proper channels which is through that support page.

    Primar13,

I did report this incident through the link you provided me. All I can say is: I'll have to wait and see how PWE responds to my submission.

I can say that, once in the past, I bought some zen and accidentally chose the wrong game to send it to. PWE rerouted the zen to STO almost immediately for me. I was amazed. I don't know if it has anything to do with being a +1000 Day Paid Sub or not. I do enjoy very fast download speeds and instant game access instead of being queued.

However, my statement at thanking you for believing me was an intentional jab at the other poster in this thread that claimed they did not believe what I was saying. That is also why I posted the evidence from the sources of my troubles with this incident.

And for that, I Thank You. >:)

PEACE! And Long Life. SPOCKOUT! (That should be an emote where your toon dances while holding both hands in the Vulcan Salute.)

This error was reported more than once on the STO forums before the migration. I reported it again on the Arc Bug Reports forum after the migration. Maybe, someone will actually look into it now.

So since I don't believe you I'm not a real person? How does that make any sense? Well let me tell you this, I assume about 80 to 90 percent of the complaints posted on the forum are complete BS, and after more than three years playing this game I have been been right a lot more often than not, there are loads of forum trolls out there, if your not one then best of luck figuring out your problem, but it still sounds extremely fishy to me, and I have never had any similar experience.

    Two things...
!) Just because something hasn't happened to you... Doesn't necessarily mean it hasn't happened to others.

    2) What possessed you to post that you didn't believe him to begin with?
He wasn't asking for your confirmation on the matter, he was just posting his experience as a warning for others to be aware.
Why do you think that anybody cares about how long you've played the game in relation to the problem?
I've been playing since day one, back in 2010 and I can tell you that I have seen several occasions where folks HAVE been affected by this type of thing. and it Wasn't BS.

It doesn't make much sense, nor is it polite, for you to have posted and practically called him a Troll.

The actual definition of that word, applies more so to the way you posted than anything in the OP.

thank you for the kind words qziqza. yep i also just wanted to point out first the issue: don't hit the back button in arc when on the zen purchase screen. it just might go ahead and make the transaction for you anyway.

the biggie is the words of goodness for pwe. they followed through very quickly and I am pleased with this result.

    trek on!
