I really like the idea of the chronoton rifle, but can you do something about that graphic effect, it's almost the same as the Synchronic Proton Distortion Prototype Assault Rifle? I was really hoping for something like the dual chronoton beam arrays.

I suspect there is a very good reason why it looks like that weapon in particular.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Huh? My chroniton rifle looks like a default fed mk xi phaser rifle without the holo effects. It looks nothing like the ghostbusters proton pack?

The firing effect not the shell.

Ah, I got that wrong. Alright

The Proton Rifle's basic shot is an energy ball, while the Chroniton Rifle fires a beam.
I mean, honestly? The only thing they have in common is they happen to both fire somewhat wavy blue beams. But the Proton Rifle has a much more corrugated and radical looking secondary fire, as well as red lightning-like effects mixed into the stream FX; the Chroniton Rifle just fires more wavy blue madness beams.
Yes, it is antiproton, which is unfortunate. It would be nice if it were an actual chroniton beam, and the FX for that are in game (check out the Lobi Consortium).
Can't say yet; I just got mine last night, upgraded it to Mk XIV, and then went back to Risa. I'll give it a test when I get the quality improved as well (epic would be the goal, of course). However, one of my fleetmates was rather unimpressed with its performance at Mk XII. But since my two mains and one of my DeltAlts have time travel as part of their stories, I had to have it just as part of my schtick.

Looks like an increase of 2.2 damage per shot and 2% crit chance for a cost of about 900,000 dilithium to me. Not sure I consider that worthwhile.

Its actually better looking than the even mark level Phaser stuff that has the holobits on it.

The Lobi store weapon is also Antiproton. Chroniton beams in STO are represented by Antiproton beams with Chroniton procs to reduce the need to stock additional damage resists/damage boosters.
This weapon has a different visual from the Lobi space weapon and instead looks like the Chroniton beams used by the Krenim on the show. But, regardless, it is likely that any Chroniton beams -- like the original Lobi ones -- will be Antiproton with a completely different proc.
so power creep again..
time will tell.
Not the existing ones but if they're going to reuse weapon models, maybe AP "Chroniton" variants of the Relativity rifle and pistol.
My take would be to treat the pistol as a sniper rifle, mechanically, and give the rifle some shield pen. In the future, I'd like to think a pistol's range can increase and it would allow the future pistols to hold up unusually well for a pistol without being OP. Rainbow beams for the Relativity Chroniton beams, of course.
> I think this is a guarantee of Chroniton weapons hitting the next (probably Krenim) lock box.
Disruptor, actually.
What color would you say it is? Is that glow yellow? Gold?
Seen here is a Photon Torpedo launched from the rear of a Galaxy class.
This is a Chroniton Torpedo in flight.

Its effect on Iconian and Iconian 1st tier servitors like the heralds seems to be a hidden thing.
What I do know is I went and did a replay of one of the FE's today, and using the silly thing was the first time I didn't loose a single away team member, nor die a single time. Cronitons mess with 'em apparently, but its not obvious!
Against Vaadwar, and anything else its a Split beam AP weap.. nothing overly spectacular.
As for it's looks... Hey you got it from NOG!... Come on guys,, It's a fed made weapon modified my a very mechanically talented Ferengi who learned his trade at the feet of his father Rom, and Chief O'Brian!
