Doing more for ship interiors

I know this has been asked before, but I think these would enhance ship interior enjoyment for players:

*Holodeck:

Entrance from corridors would have a console where you can select the map/area you want to visit (this would be a great way of using exploration accolades players earn to recreate a small tidbit of where they traveled before).

Inside an Arch(or equivalent for Klingon and Romulan ships) could be used to make some adjustments (such as changing the time of day in the map, such as morning, dusk, and night, or changing the locale such as Wild West exterior to Wild West saloon without having expand the Holodeck spacial area itself).

With time, other maps/areas can be included (and possibly perchased with Zen) in a variety that one normally doesn't see in STO, such the locations shown in the TV shows and the sailing ship that was seen in Star Trek: First Contact.

You and invited guests to the ship can hang out, RP, or just take a break from the regular ST0 experience.

Also, this way KDF members could enjoy a bit of Risa while the Summer Event is over, for example :)

*Captain's Replicator:

Add functionality to the Captain's quarters with recipes that aren't included in regular Replicator that's accessable on the go via Inventory UI. Not necessarily more potent, but maybe with additional effects that aren't available to regular food/drink such as the temp dance emotes when getting food from that time travel mission when you visit a certain Miracle Maker :)

This would be a nice way to add functionality to the Captain's personal room on the ship.

*Panels to access directional lights:

Sometimes it's nice to be able to find one's way through the larger bridge interiors without having to rely on the map UI just to get around your own ship.

This would be useful if visiters can use this one too. Mind you, to help prevent some possible grief/annoyance/abuse from either host or guest, it would be great if the directional light lit up for the person using it, so people can visit different areas without light zipping in conflicting directions constantly and lagging the map.

I'll add more later on, kind of busy in the game :o But please add more, hopefully there'll be a sticky for bridge interior suggestions (if there isn't one already, that is).

If the ROI would be large and positive, they would have done that a long time ago.

I've always thought it would be fun to be in a space battle, from your ship interior and the perspective of what you're able to see through the viewscreen.

I also think that lock box and event ships should have more than just a bridge.

The ROI must be there since so many MMOs have customizable player housing. IMO, the problem is that STO doesn't have a large enough dev team to focus on customizable ship interiors since there are far more stuff that needed to be added first.

I've always thought it would be cool if the Ferengi ship interiors (from the D'kora and now the Nandi) had a vault that had one or more spots to put ground trophies. This way you could use the latinum floor trophies and it would look like you had a vault full of latinum. :D

Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!

Having a holodeck (or a cortical stimulator that was used by the crew of the Equinox in Star Trek: Voyager' two-parter of the same name), would be a player controlled mini-enviroment that can be customized using mostly already existing objects and maps. Anything extra can be rolled out over time.

Plus for some interiors, like the Obliesk carriers, only have one room to use. This would expand it without really having to go too out of the way to do so.

I'd love more functions for ship interiors but the problem is kinda catch 22. No real functionality means few use them, few using them means no incentive for cryptic to make more or add things.

Being able to do things like access the foundry via the holodeck would be cool.

    That's true.

Also, I just thought about this (sorry, I've been distracted lately), but being able to change costumes for general reasons/dressing up for the holodeck/suite would be nice too.

How many times has an officer been called to duty while they were in the holodeck and they didn't have time to change on the way :o

Another, very minor thing: being able to use functional items such as contacting duty officers, using the ship's library, piloting the shuttle in the earlier Undine story arc, etc. while sitting in a chair would be a nice touch. It's kind of off-putting having to stand all the time to use non-inventory items.

I agree that we need more interiors and functionality for it
