If and when they might do a T6 version of the Armitage I really hope they release new Faction specific pets, hopefully finally a frigate grade pet for the federation.
Groan no more carriers! How many more does the game need? Answer NONE.
Go on take a look how many ships are cruiser carriers now. FAR to many!
This.^^^^^^^
I don't even bother with the hangar on my command cruisers. Hangar pets are just too annoying to manage. Cryptic needs to get out of the mindset of "slap a hangar on it to make it better" and actually give the ships decent stats.
Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!
No no, I'm sure we could fit a Defiant or Miranda inside an Armitage. Maybe the Condor/Ju'day class. I KNOW it's possible.
I would support an Akira having a ship-specific Defiant-Frigate. On one condition.
That the T6 B'Rel gets a hangar bay with new Elite BOPs. I want my B'Rel to launch B'Rels from it. If a tiny ship like a Sarr Theln can launch ships as big as it (Plesh Brek Frigates... Where do they come from? It's like a mouse giving birth to elephant babies), why not a BOP?
Also, these Elite BOP/Defiant Frigates should also have hangars to launch fighters themselves. I want spam that can deploy more spam.

Except we know they're coming. T6 Armitage, T6 Ar'kif, and a new T6 KDF raptor with a flight deck. All whether we want it or not.
As to the OP, frigates would be ludicrous on a light carrier like the Armitage. Finally adding some heavy fighters not from a lockbox ship might be nice though, since standard light fighters have a lifespan of zero given the Heralds having FAW on all their ships. Add some new fighters with better survivability and the weapons to take advantage of the new trait of the aforementioned T6 ships, fit in much better.
Okay, STO has carriers. They're not going away. You know what else is a carrier though? EVERY SINGLE SHIP IN STAR TREK. There is not a single ship that did not have some kind of other craft berthed in it. Even the Defiant, which arguably wasn't even big enough for one, had a single shuttlepod built in to a hanger. EVERY ship in star trek is a carrier. What the canon didn't have were DEDICATED carriers, and that's only because their shuttlecraft weren't used that way. The Enterprise-D Galaxy class had enough hangers to launch a small armada along with its seperation, and the Galaxy Dreadnought in game actually reflects that. Klingon ships have shuttles. It's not a stretch to assume that a LOT of ships probably carry fighters as well. And if you think the Romulans don't have them as well you're kidding yourself.
Stop ******** just because it's not the ship YOU want. You don't have an arguement as to why it it shouldn't be in the game. If anything we don't need another science vessel with hangers. We need a true carrier in the game, something big and beefy, hard as diamonds with more hangers. We have the controls to assign different tasks to different hangers. Give us a hard ship with lots of pets and minimal defenses for a true Command and Control support role. Command cruisers aren't commanding anything. They're just supposed to lead the fight with their abilities, not direct or strategise.
Maybe they could make some heavy runabouts, except you only get 2 per hangar instead of 4, like frigate pets.
Danube Runabout is supposed to be versatile; the main body (behind the cockpit) can be any module; Cargo Module, Passenger Module, and so forth). There was an art showing this "breakdown" of the components (warp sled, cockpit, and the "cargo module"). So you could have a heavy combat danube (or yellowstone, the successor to Danube)
What is a Alita, and why is the name for the T6 Akira?
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Yeah with the right build my Elite Orion Slaver fighters are usually fine fighting Heralds, the Reactive Nanite Starship Trait + Enigeering Team 3 backed by ET3 buffing doffs + Repair Platform console helps they're hulls healed, and Attract Fire keeps some of the attacks away from them. And when some do die, Quick Deploy + Wing Commander launches them quickly and ranks them quickly.

I think these upcoming light carriers would be a good way to release a new batch of fighters with new abilities. We've already seen how the Bleth Choas fighters that you can get with the Sarr Theln can use a couple intel abilities like Evade Target Lock, which makes them somewhat superior to existing equivelent fighters like the Scorpion, To'Duj, and Peregrine.

Of course we could fit a Defiant. Another story is that it will happen. Its about the ship class. Heavy escort carriers only get low-end fighters, not frigates (as far as i remember).
But since it seems that we will have almost every single ship as T6 (ridiculous) dont worry we will know soon enough.
I like carrier pets. They keep fighting even when i'm lagging like mad, which is pretty much all the time lately. Heck, i'd use a ship with 5 science, 6 engineering consoles and no tac consoles and weapons if it had 3 hangars.
Quick Deploy is a trait that is unlocked by leveling certain ship classes, like Flight Deck Cruisers, Carriers, Dreadnaught Carriers, and Escort Carriers.

So likely a lock box ship then. Figures that a lock box would be need to make fighters useful.
Happen to know which one?

It would have to be one of the T6 ones, which there are very few of right now.

It really doesn't matter which one, whatever it is- both it and the Wing Commander Trait are well out of my price range. Getting lockbox traits and ships just to make Fighters useful is for the casual player the same as declaring carriers useless.
Those with Frigate Pets however (like the Breen, who can't possible hold those frigates within its hull) are wonderful. And I guess that's the casual player's only option.
Quick Deploy, IIRC is part of the 1-4 Starship Mastery, it's not a Starship Mastery Trait, and only available on certain Hangar-capable ships. It shortens the CD between launches and also slightly increases the rate of hangar pet leveling. Access to it is pretty straightforward; just find a T5U or T6 with Quick Deploy in its 1-4 Starship Mastery list and Master the ship enough. Again, I could be wrong and mixing up a different 1-4 Starship Mastery passive with an actual T6 Starship Mastery Trait, but I do know such a standard Mastery exists on certain hangar-capable ships.
Wing Commander is a Lockbox Trait that's highly valued for regular Carrier players (and single-hangar ships), and available on the Exchange for a hefty sum. It basically cuts hangar pet experience gain by half (or levels them 100% faster; however you want to look at it) so your pets would be at 5Star in short order. Stacking with Quick Deploy, and even depleted hangar wings will quickly be at full strength again.

When in doubt . . . slap a hanger on it!
Actually it needs at least one more a t6 vo'quv for kdf... Preferable commander spec.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

I believe it refers to Battle Angel Alita.

It also makes sense to offer hangar pets of the next higher rarity for the same reason.

Wind Commander I know of, but not Quick Deploy. Is that a trait? I don't see it available currently on the Exchange.
