i wish we could make Risian characters in the alien creator. Anybody else think this would be a great cheap way to make more lore characters?

It's a good idea. I've asked for it for a while. Cryptic could probably make some money with minimum effort by selling Risian, Deltan, El-Aurian, etc. Captains. But considering we've yet to see them make the push from Aenar Bridge Officers to Aenar Captains, I wouldn't hold my breath over it.

Unless they wanted to go the extra mile and give each species unique traits, they could really just repackage something from the alien creator and people would buy them up.

That would be nice. There is minimal effort required. Risians need the forehead symbol (already in game on npcs), Deltans need to be bald (maybe with the seductive trait, it's been a while since I watched tmp and I don't remember everything about Deltans), and El Aurians need Guinan hats (doesn't the club 47 bartender already have one?).

Why is it Risians? The planet is Risa, not Risia - so Risan would be appropriate instead of the many years of Risian we've been blathering about.

Why is it Dutch instead of Netherlandian? Why is it American instead of United Statesian?* Because it is. Likely whoever first wrote them in the TV show thought "Risian" sounded better.

    * Funnily enough, in Spanish it really is United Statesian. (estadounidense, from Estados Unidos)

Aren't Risians just humans who were born on Risa?

No. Risians are like a number of other human-looking aliens who from all outward appearances look human but have different internal organs. Enterprise established that Risians are truly alien.

Well, since we never see our toons' internal organs, just make a human and call it a Risian, I guess...

All it would really take is adding the forehead symbol in the tattoos and scars list.

I asked for this in the official costume request thread quite a while ago. Well not asked for it to be a scar/tattoo but that placement makes sense. My main is a Bajoran who lingers on Risa year round when she has time.

Uh, they call themselves Nederlanders in their own language, and it's United States of America, so Americans. Risians is simply incorrect, and I rather doubt that it occurred under the circumstance you are citing. More like common parlance has perverted it to the incorrect form through much misuse.

well with the new options there adding finally maybe we can get some more species in the creator. we are way too limited for an mmo of star trek quality to not be able to make a lot of cannon aliens. i have never played an mmo with such limited options.

no. its either its own playable race or i dont want it. like the various pieces to the jem'hadar, cardassian, vorta, hirogen and others, they either come complete as their own races or not at all.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

I just wish clubwear and swimsuits could be work outside of the club and Risa respectively.

How is it any different to loincloths on Orion females and shirtless Gorn?

I wasn't aware that Risa was part of the Federation. They're not members of the Klingon Defense Force or Republic either. They're neutral. Unless I'm also mistaken (which I don't believe I am) we've never seen a Risian serve onboard a Federation Starship.

As already stated, Cryptic haven't managed to provide us with playable Aenar yet (though it's interesting that we can play as a Benzite, but we don't have access to Benzite Bridge Officers). I would also think there's more cause for playable Cardassians before playable Risians.
