Risian Red Tarp Tents

Does anyone know what these are for?

It does not seem functional at this point (I could not find any prompts or a vendor when I walked around in it), but there is music or a noise when you want around the small camp.

If anything it reminds me of the 2013 beach structure they expanded in 2014.

They are the two red dots on the northern bank of the inland river beach about 3/4's up on the map.

No idea - maybe it is a location for something like the bonfire and firework events, something happens there at a specific time.

if you travel there, there is an assortment of random things from all factions. My theory is that there was an "Archaeology event" planned for this year that got scrapped.... I mean... Picard /did/ kind of get wrapped up in uncovering dead-people things and a whole future/present plot with a murderous Ferengi(and what ship is out this year?)

something that maybe didn't get finished.. or, the Iconians are going to show up, be upset, trash the main building, and we'll all form a refugee camp/casino/command post and run commando raids on the Iconians at the main resort via powerboard and floater until they surrender the off duty wear aloha shirts, and flee Risa due to their embarrassment at their inability to build sand castles!

But hey, we'll let them keep a few shirts.. they look good in 'em!

Been wondering about this myself, those tents are shown in one of the recent dev blogs, I buzzed them when flying around Risa, but no one is there...

What are these tents for?

Do you remember the exploration accolade for the unsanctioned beach party? That was the Risian Death Cult, the blokes who were responsible for the skeletons in the fire pit back in 2013. Well, those tents are the meeting place for the Risian Death Cult.
I completed a 2-man CSE, ISE, and KASE, Optionals included. And I soloed Winter Invasion.

Actually, it's the "others". Didn't you see the black smoke rising? And you all thought it was a nice island.

    Hehe, I'd love that.
Endless hours with a small trowel taking off topsoil centimetres at a time, big thick context reports to fill in, sieving the spill, bagging up every last thing in lovely little plastic bags, arguing with the anthropologists who want to play with the bones before we've logged them, a minigame where we argue amongst ourselves as to the exact region where one context becomes another.

There is also a second powerboard course on the west side of the island that is unfinished. You can see the ramps on the big map but they aren't actually there only the rocks in the water.

it looks more like a storage tent. a spare dabo table, plenty of drinks on the counter, open boxes, others sealed, it looks like simple storage.

Slight Necro but related, not only would I love to see these tents used for something next year, but on the main beaches could we also get some sun shades like these?

    Beach_Inside_Man.jpg

They were seen on the beach when Barkley went to talk to Troi in the ST:Voy episode Inside Man, and I think they should be easy enough to add to Risa, maybe even throw a few onto the regular Risa map too, but they also would look great there.

Do you remember 2013, when there were skeletons in the fire pit? That was the work of the Risian Death Cult.

Take a good look around those tents. You see ceremonial candles, books of rituals, and countless weapons. The answer is obvious. Those tents are the HQ of the Risian Death Cult.

The first version of Risa had a few reused assets. One of them was a scorch mark that the devs used for the bonfire, but..... it was a chemical burn made by a Horta as it dissolved a Tal Shiar agent on Hfihar. Which made for a really creepy bonfire....

I think it was the Bonfire party that was on the list and not the scorch mark... not completely sure now.
