Delta Recruit [now] 18/04/2015

flash525flash525 Member Posts: 5,441 Arc User
Unless I am mistaken, Delta Recruitment ends on Tuesday (the 21st), yet if anyone still has a Delta Recruit, they'll remain a Delta Recruit. I am aware though, that on the 21st, certain bonuses are no longer to be obtained (thus the initial rush to get your new characters to level #50 or #60 before Season #10 launches).

Can anyone tell me what bonuses will be rewarded after the 21st, and which ones will stop?

Thanks!

To my knowledge the only thing you lose is the dilithium per kill.

This. Delta Recruits last for 7 weeks.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I see, well at least I hate the right date. :P

Still, other than (possibly) the lack of dilithium upon episode completion, can anyone else confirm what will be locked from obtaining from May 21st onward?

Delta recruits can claim any rewards at any time, The onlything that is limited time is the special delta trait that awards dilithium per kill. If you hover over the delta trait on your traits menu it details this more

There are Weekly Reward that are Tiered. Those go away with each week: Bonus XP, etc.

There are Event Only Rewards like the Delta Recruit Trait. It goes away when the Event ends.

There are specific Delta Rewards that stay until the character is complete: Jump Start Pack, etc

There are Account Rewards that you can access if you have a Delta Recruit: Rep Marks, Devices, etc.

The issue here is if you are new and make a character AFTER the Delta Recruit Event ends you get none of the above.

From what I understand, if you created it today AND finished the tutorial before the server downtime tomorrow, it should be a delta recruit and stay a delta recruit. You'll have unlimited amount of time to complete the tasks...

You must create a new recruit TODAY and finish the tutorial.

You must not skip the tutorial!

If you don't get the time travel scene during your missions and the temporal device, you are not a Delta Recruit.

If you try to create a new character tomorrow, you are not a Delta Recruit.

Once you have finished the tutorial, you are OK. You can take as long as you want to level up. All the you missed are the weekly bonuses like extra XP and Dil that all characters got, and a 1-dil per kill bonus.

Tip: take the ground gear option as you level, and save the lower level armor, shield, and weapon. A Cap2 Reg shield is a nice one until you get Fleet / Rep shields, and you can upgrade the low-level ones later on (with improved tech upgrades). More important, VR kit modules cost a small fortune on the exchange.

The tutorial for all factions has 2 Delta cutscenes. One right at the beginning and the other one early into the tutorial.

Fed: Tutorial ends when you are send to Admial Quinn. Just in front of his office the temporal agent needs to be talked to. Then talk to Quinn.

KDF: Tutorial ends when you shall talk to the Chancelor. Right after the entrance in the Great Hall is the temporal agent. Talk to him and then to the chancelor.

ROM: Tutorial ends when you shall talk to D'Tan on the flottila. Right before you meet him is the temporal agent. Talk to him and then talk to D'Tan (that one is finished when you beam aboard your ship).

If you talked to the temporal agent and the next person, your toon will be a Delta recruit!
    That's it.

I thought that at first but The information posted by the devs in the Q&A says the special tutorial ends as soon as the recruit resceives their “Tesseract Communications Device”.

It doesn't say nothing about needing to finish the regular tutorials, or seeing the temporal agents.

So listen to that quote again:
Once a Delta Recruit completes their special Tutorial and receives their “Tesseract Communications Device”

If I read that, I conclude that the tutorial must be finished. And I mention the exact points when they are finished. Maybe you can think different, but I would advice you to do as I said: Better safe than worry!

I think once you get the device and the game says you are now a delta recruit...which happens early in the tutorial...

Especially if you understand it the way I do it: each faction has their SPECIAL tutorial.

I did not want to run a risk and thus I COMPLETED the full tutorial.

Q: What happens if I create a Delta Recruit, but do not complete all of the listed Tasks?

A: Once a Delta Recruit completes their special Tutorial and receives their “Tesseract Communications Device” they will be free to complete the assigned tasks at any point in the future. Although Delta Recruit characters can only be created while the event is running, there is no time limit on the completion of the tasks, or their associated rewards.

Yes, you can continue to unlock/earn rewards on your Delta Recruit indefinitely, so long as they complete the Tutorial while the event is running.

So yes, you have to complete the full tutorial during the event to be considered a delta recruit. After which you can take as long as you want to unlock all of the rewards, even after the event ends.

Edit: This might help. It lists what missions are part of the tutorial for each faction http://sto.gamepedia.com/Tutorial

Basically the tutorial ends when Feds are told to go to ESD, KDF are told to go to First City on Qo'nos, and Romulans are told to go to the Flotilla. (It ends after talking to the NPC at these places to complete the mission)

I created an Orion sci DR a week ago, but I wasn't able to get the jump start pack. Do you remember when you first get access to it?

No, it's permanent. If you check to see if you can discard it, you'll find that you can't.

Thanks for the info. I remember getting it on my original DR but I could remember exactly when that was in the story progression.

Whenever you finish / level / get something, check your Delta menue. You will see if that will give you rewards. Some of those rewards will be bound to reaching certain levels (claiming the fleet rewards your toon has to be level 30 for example).
