Servers were full. Gold members and Life Time Subscribers get to play first, then its first come first serve. This happened when Legacy of Romulus came out. The Delta Recruit event is proving to be popular.

It never fails. Get sever not responding, disconnected, client crash. First day I get a good connection and have to wait to get in the game. New company and cant buy more servers. SUCKS!

You would think they would expand their server capacity as needed.

    You would think...

    Yup.

    They don't...

They don't want to spend the $$$....

You guys are complaining about server queues on a game that is free to play. If you were a paid subscriber to a game like WoW, I'd say you have a leg to stand on, but this is not the case here.

The server queues are evidence of that STO is a victim of its own success, the Delta Recruitment event is proving very popular (more so than Delta Rising was, which, let's be honest, wasn't very good). The rewards from it alone are getting people to play. Across my 6 characters, 4 of whom are max level, I was able to SINGLE HANDEDLY fund my fleets 3 upgrade projects to raise our starbase another tier just from the account level rewards across all characters.

If you don't like the queue, subscribe to the game, and you bypass the line, otherwise, just wait it out. Cryptic Studios and by extension, Perfectworld Entertainment, are businesses, they're sole reason for existence is to make money, and the fact you like and play a game that they made is a byproduct. If you aren't giving them any money, they are under no obligation to bend to your requests

Full disclosure: My lifetime sub was a Christmas present from my Ex last year, you can direct any criticisms about me on that regard to the black hole at the center of the universe.
