Delta Recruit stuck in tutorial

I got to the part in the first mission when you pick up a phaser rifle on the Miranda ship to fight the Klingons.

I discarded the rifle and then changed zone. Now I can't equip the rifle or retrieve it, which means I can't progress. I also can't leave the mission or reset it. My Delta recruit is doomed! :P

hooray.... at least you can delete it and start over....and play the dem game....
