PWE and Cryptic are not always the same. While Crytpic is owned by PWE that does not mean Crytpic is having layoffs. It does go to say something if PWE is having them. Would like to see some numbers from PWE to see how each of its games are doing.

They spent a ton of cash buying companies last year.

Its not uncommon when the corp entity needs some cash flow they fire people. I am sure most of us adults have experienced this before

The President of PWE is trrying to be a big wig. He was at some big Party event a couple of weeks ago saying scary things about promoting the Chinese vision thru entertainment.

You know at any time China can just nationalize STO

Some Website heard from Some Guy who used to work for PWE that There Might Be Layoffs at PWE
...might have been a better title to the thread.

Also, the news article has already gotten scrolled down by 2-3 other stories. Here's a Better Link.

    BWhahahaha. No. They can't.

    1) We already know through social media at least one who was laid off but we're all waiting for the official announcement before spreading the word. You know... that "integrity in gaming journalism" thing ******** keep kvetching about? Yeah - well, we're waiting on sources, OK?

    2) As for the so-called "Big Wig" the founder of PWE made an offer to buy back all PWE stock back in January - so he *IS* a big wig. The Board and Shareholders haven't accepted his offer of a stock buyback yet.

    3) CBS still holds the license to Trek. They can't just "nationalize" it. Don't be daft.

As soon as the official announcement is made about the layoffs, we'll be back.

not some website, the planet. A former PR exec TWEETED it to the world. Since he is in PR he likely knows that will cause a stir. so either he is lying or he wants the info out.

Could it be that some disgruntleds have an NDA and cant discuss said lay off?
