Has the lag come back?

darramouss1darramouss1 Member Posts: 1,811 Arc User
Since the last patch I've noticed that when I press an ability it sometimes doesn't activate, requiring me to repress them. Also, my weapons that are set to autofire sometimes don't autofire.

Has anyone else noticed these lag issues since the last patch or am I just really unlucky?

After the patch 2 weeks ago it seemed to have (mostly) gone away. This last patch seems to have undone the good work that heaven-sent patch delivered.

More so within the last 24 hours. I noticed it last night with 'Server not responding' .

I did a tracert just now to patchserver.crypticstudios.com, and the tracert results look good.

I'd kill to have a ping like that.... mine is over 300 and step 15 constantly fails for me....

Often it feels like lag is presence in an area where someone has a unfortunate connection.

Like trying to play an FPS with someone with insanely high ping makes your system TRIBBLE itself.

    Anecdotal of course.

^^ pretty much this. And still no replies from sto staff or network staff, regardless of months of complains on the forum :( Every day in every chat i see lag complains and frustration about this absurd situation... :(

They removed the Lag Feature? I'm glad they put it back in then. Can't have them removing features on us.

It's not just powers that don't work if you click them. The entire UI is so slow that only every other click is recognized at all, or so it seems. I am currently double-clicking everything, or holding down the corresponding key for 1 second or more (and even then...), or just wait for buttons to appear!

    To quote bort:

[2:19] [RedditChat] Borticus: We're paid by the Lag Lobby to keep it in the game.

Man, I'm so glad they implemented SoIP finally, otherwise he'd have gotten some serious flack for that.

Haven't been able to play this game for more than week now. About a month ago the game played fine and I had almost forgot this game had these connectivity issues. Pretty sure that it's something server side, If I log on at 8 in the morning the I don't have much of a problem, by 9:30 AM I start having problems.

    ???

I always thought it was a part of the game. The "button lag" has been my constant companion since I first started playing STO in January 2014.

Cryptic should advertise "button lag" as a major feature of the game to draw in new players.

anecdotally, for me at least it seems to occur most often when teammates have carriers with a bazillion fighters. especially a bazillion fighters running FaW.

Guys, maybe some of you did not hear but Geko directly responded to this issue via a podcast a few weeks ago and according to him all the lag, dc's and rubber-banding is due to the fact that
