I feel that the selection of Holoemitters has a lot of potential for additions to the game.
Many other F2P games monetize cosmetic content. So why not expand the holoemitter selection more? I'm sure many would love to be able to use ships that possess lockbox stats while looking like faction ships.
Or even something like owning a C-Store ship allows you to craft a holoemitter for that ship's look using an appropriate amount of GPL or even an existing holoemitter as input.
C'mon, let us have the best of both worlds - let us pilot the loadout that we want with the ship look that we want.
If there's caveats about ship identification in PvP, well, then disable it there. Or even just display the altered look for yourself alone.
Or you could even expand it into a separate system, allowing ships to have something like a "Hull Frame" equipment slot with various looks available.
At this point, I'm not worried about holoemitters.

We "see" what we want, the rest of the world sees what you actually have...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

"No. Men do not roar. Women roar. Then they hurl heavy objects... and claw at you." -Worf, son of Mogh
"A filthy, mangy beast, but in its bony breast beat the heart of a warrior" - "faithful" (...) "but ever-ready to follow the call of the wild." - Martok, about a Targ
"That pig smelled horrid. A sweet-sour, extremely pungent odor. I showered and showered, and it took me a week to get rid of it!" - Robert Justman, appreciating Emmy-Lou
What I would like is a special Holo emitter for the c-store, let's say 3k zen, that let's you select another ship in your fleet to display instead of the one your flying. Goes in device slot, does not burn out.
Poof, all the complaining about not having x ship as T6 goes away.
Obviously there would have to be a handful of restrictions, mostly just "excludes NX, miranda, constitution and constitution refit"
I used then from time to time, I had nothing else to spend Latinum on so I own a few of them. Honestly haven't used them in a while, would be nice to have more use for them even make them a ship device since we rarely use those slots anyways.
I do use them, and I would like to see them add a few more ships to the list. A courier ship as well as the Defera fighters that are on Defera would be a nice addition.
IMO any change/addition to ship holoemitters should include either a removal of the time limit or the ability to recharge them by equipping them in device slots or something. If they do that, I know I'd sure use them more because they're really quite fun little toys.
One of the most fun things to do is walk around the Defera invasion zone with a holoemitter of a Borg drone. If they should do anything it is take away the holo effect. The blue lines that phase every once and a while. But there are do many more ships out there that a new selection would be nice.
