Patch Notes for March 12th have been released

kiloacekiloace Member Posts: 488 Arc User
Looks to be mostly positive stuff/improvements. Only a few comments here:

- That XP scaling fix for level 50 enemies is a godsend. I was playing a Borg Red Alert on my level 60 main today and was disappointed to be getting single-figures for killing enemy NPCs. Will this fix affect the level 50 Borg in Borg Red Alerts as well?

- Crystalline Cataclysm has a tendency, if you publically queue, to sometimes bring players to maps which have already failed (or, even more strangely, lack the mission/entity, period). Is this something that can be fixed, or is it just a nasty side-effect of 100+ queues running at once?

That's funny (in the "Does this taste funny?" kind of way). The Release Notes I see were posted today, not "days ago."

    -10 points.

Its possible that they may have referred to the TRIBBLE patch notes, which are generally a good indication of what we'll see on Holodeck in the future since its the test server.

With little hope, that mean the boff seat empty on login/loadout issue will be acknowledged this summer, or near the end of the year. That would be something.

Or it might be like the KDF players not appearing on a PVP ladder, and be acknowledged in several years.

.... your post is the most pointless on this thread.... I seriously don't even know why you'd write something like this if not merely trolling...

ANYWAY... yes, I am looking forward to more correct scaling as well. the 'Loot Critter' thing never really bothered me... i started seeing the loot cases with patches of fur and goggely eyes going 'meep meep' until I reached in and disemboweled them for the goodies inside...

Updated rewards so that the player can choose any type of Mark for the Mark Reward.
Yay! I never could figure out why the only choices were Fleet or Nukara.
Players should no longer be able to use party powers such as the Disco Ball on other players around the statue of Spock on Vulcan.
Thank Sarek! Let the kiddies howl, this is proper. If they want to party they can go to New Romulus.

Yes, it's the Redshirt patch notes, but it's the same basic idea - what goes live on Redshirt is likely to go live on Holodeck next patch.
    SCM - Crystal C. (S) - [00:12] DMG(DPS) - @jarvisandalfred: 8.63M(713.16K) - Fed Sci

    SCM - Hive (S) - [02:31] DMG(DPS) - @jarvisandalfred: 30.62M(204.66K) - Fed Sci

    Tacs are overrated.

You're still going to get trolled by the guys out there. It's not like that's going to stop. How did those Party Nullifiers work out? :P

Not that it matters to me anyway. Pretty sure devs could do better than party nullifiers though, also pretty sure they won't try anyway.

Five dollars says the 'loot critter' thing is resolved long before KDF toons are back on the pvp scoreboards. Oh and by then there'll be plenty of delta recruitment costume issues to resolve.

I've always thought of the Party Nullifiers as trolling the trolls. They pop the Party Amplifier expecting everyone's characters to start dancing etc, instead all they get is a light show as all those with the nullifier stand around normally. :D I'm referring to generally, not Vulcan specifically.

Resolved an issue which was causing Q to still send messages to the player after the Anniversary event ended.
I can imagine the responsible of this going:

"Hmmm, Q still talks to people when entering different locations. Players who don't want to hear him probably dropped the mission already and don't hear him anymore, and players who want to hear him kept the mission safe in their "in progress" tab for fun.
    ...
You know what, TRIBBLE these people, this is a serious oversight we made!"

I was more intrigued by the length of the downtime. 4 1/2 hours. A bit longer than normal, for a seemingly mundane patch.

Every time they give normal time estimates of around 2 hours they overrun. They're probably just doing this so they don't have to rush.

I think two weeks was an appropriate period for celebrating Mr Nimoy's life.

The important thing is that people weren't prevented from doing it in the immediate aftermath of his passing.

I really do salute Cryptic for allowing it, and not caving in to all the hateful and intolerant speech on the forums.

I was on Vulcan earlier giving one last round of memorial spheres to Mr Nimoy, and saying my final farewell.

I know that for my own part, after all the positive energy in the community that was actually on Vulcan with us during all the celebrations of his life, I wont be able to think of the disco balls as anything besides memorial spheres again.

Every time i light one from now on, I will be reminded of the way the community came together on Vulcan to celebrate the man's life, and how touching it was to see so many strangers there together.

Wow, still epic troll failing even now? Pathetic.

Change to summer time interfered once again with your ability to correctly calculate time in a relevant time zone.
The notes say maintenance is supposed to start at 1400 UTC. In fact, it will start at 1300 UTC.

Repetitive troll - why still so obsessed with disco balls?
