So, it's been noted that on many maps, combat and non-combat, the Typhoon Battleship has been almost completely replaced with a variant of the new Command ships.
Is this an unofficial announcement that the Typhoon has forever been replaced by the new Command ships?
When are you going to get around to replacing all the Typhoons?
Does this mean Mirror Command Ships?
When can we expect the same for Photonic Fleet and Fleet Support?
Are we going to get a new fleet consumable that allows the summoning of a single Command ship?
Typhoon still shows up if you call for fleet support.
I hope that this is changed in the future. Fleet support could then consist of either a command cruiser or a venture drednaught cruiser (random chance, maybe even add a random chance that the support is a named hero ship (Ent-F, Voyager, Rhode Island...))
I would refurbish the Typhoon and keep it as a mirror ship and then release a mirror typhoon which is a toned down command cruiser or oddyssey and it's skin is usable on the prime universe ships

I noticed this as well. The Typhoon at the space station (Drozana or K7) is now a Command ship. I used my Fleet assist ship this morning to help take out a tougher target. Its still a Typhoon for now.
I don't know about this change what it means later.

I'm still hoping for a playable redesigned Typhoon battleship and Jupiter dreadnought (I'll be paying for them the day they come out if Cryptic did).
I don't mind the replacements too much in the regular missions, though they're much weaker than the Typhoon ever was. They don't TS1/TS2 their Torpedo shots (which IIRC, are photons rather than quantums), they don't TBR or TB nearby enemies (such as yourself if playing as KDF), and die pretty easily compared to the Typhoons they replaced.
It's nothing more than marketing to sell more command vessels.
Not necessarily - I've destroyed a couple of dozen of the new ships in Empire Defence. They ain't all that.

I played one of the old Cardassian front missions, the one where you go into a wargame with the Athens. She's still a Typhoon. But yea... I have noticed in Empire Defense that Typhoons are being replaced with Command Cruisers.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Updating the models isn't a bad thing. The Typhoons are a little unrefined by todays standards. I'd like to see a Typhoon battleship at some point in the future.

I can see some elements of the Typhoon in the new Command Cruisers. The doubled up necelles and one of the saucer options sorta gives them the same configuration.
If hte Typhoon gets a redesign, I can see them using some Command Cruiser parts to do it.

I agree. Both the Typhoon and Jupiter could use some tweaking, cleaning up, and detail.
Which will happen if they are ever made available as playable ships.

The one at Drozana is a Geneva Class Command Battle Cruiser.
