Darn you, Cryptic! Darn you all to heck!

Since beta I've never bought much in the c-store. Just a little something here, little something there. So I built up a nice nest egg of zen.

I love my Fleet Avenger. I love it so much that I'm embarrassed. But... But...

It's the weekend, kids are running around, I'm just trying to stay out of the way, reading the forums... puttering around in game... clicked on the C-store.... and ... arrrggggghhhh.

It's there... calling me... The Command Battlecruiser Mega Bundle. It wants me to buy it. It's seducing me to buy it.

"I love my Avenger!" I say. "You'll love the Presidio even more, and you will be all set for the Fleet variant." Cryptic soothes, leek scented fingers running through my hair.

"I don't play my Klingons, they are just doff raiders." I state. "You'll play them now." Cryptic whispers, tracing my jaw with a d'k tahg.

"My Romulan is only level 15. I hate Tovan Khev." I complain. "Did you see the extra large airlock we put on the Vastam. It will be fully operational when you make 50." Cryptic offers helpfully.

It's Kirk and Uhura all over again. I'm gonna buy it, I can't not buy it. But that doesn't mean I have to like it.... Just like Kirk hated kissing Uhura (yeah right).

It is true. I'm a metric. Delta Rising is the most awesome thing ever!

I'd say stick with your Avenger.

The Presidio is neither a 5/3 nor does it have the attack Comm. I consider them different playstyles.; the Presidio is probably closer to the Regent in actual playstyle.

You just missed the 15% sale on it. Just think, if you buy it now, who knows? There may be a 20% sale next week!

Thank you, OP. what you posted was refreshingly funny.

A nice change from all the "we hates the Disco Balls! We hates your smiling right now 'cuz SPOCK IS DAYED!" threads rolling about lately.

I must confess to a similar moment of weakness way back when the Vesta was released.

"Buy us. You know you want to." they whispered.

"But I am a diehard member of the KDF." I replied.

"Pish Tosh. A technicality. You know the Starfleet in STO is far more like the Klingons than even the ones in Enterprise. So buy us." They continued on.

Considering the large amount of half naked, big TRIBBLE Orion I can meet on Qo'nos, I think that part is obvious.

Either that, or the Klingons are opening the largest brothel in the galaxy.

The war is over. The tailor is forever bugged. Geko has given up on KDF content. What else are they to do with themselves?

Or Klingons just gave taste and are used to "take" what they want.
There is no doubt in the galaxy as well, Orion slave girls is an unforgettable experience.

If you're not planning on playing any other factions, save some money and just go with the Presidio. The trait on that one alone is one of the best available atm, and as a tactical ship it's also the only ship worth really looking at for long term use. When it comes to bundles, the sci/eng ships are really only worth getting if you want their parts or traits, and the traits on the other two just aren't all that great - Supremacy, All Hands on Deck, Reciprocity, and the Intel/Pilot spec traits are easy choices to take over anything else really.

Forgot to mention the same thing happened to me with the FT5U Kamarag, OP.

Just FYI, The Presidio is a Fleet Level ship already.

There won't be a fleet version of the Command Ships, they're already at that level.

@OP: Until Bort finds the time to fix Suppression Barrage (one of the main and only useful Command Cmdr. abilities). I wouldn't bother with Command ships just yet, and just wait for the next discount.

Which is why my Orion is somewhat *less* endowed chest-wise (and so are my other female characters, and their female boffs). And wears more sensible clothes (near-naked on Rura Penthe ... that makes sense ... ever heard of frostbite?).

Still, have you seen the chests on female characters in DC Universe Online? Oy vey! As if the Marilyn Monroe/Jane Mansfield/Dolly Parton size were the only size possible. I keep looking for a way to downsize my character's chest, and I can't. Thank goodness STO isn't so limited in character modifications.

(Btw, in real life I am a man; but I guess an atypical one, since I think that there's more to women than their chest size.)

I could use a presidio. I have the fed command battlecruiser bundle.

But I use the operations battlecruiser because its bufftastic and tanky as all heck.

I've never understood why out of proportion TRIBBLE are ever considered attractive.

"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

    ..

I just figure they have person warming shields in their g-strings. All my KDF boffs are orion females, and yes they all dress like it's Beach Blanket Bingo weekend on Qo'nos.

Of course all my Fed boffs are females wearing TOS Mirror Universe uniforms.

Just figured out how to do the FPS camera bug thing. So I think I'm going to spend next week (hehehe, retirement is awesome) setting up a foundry mission that takes place on a fleet starbase just so I can run all 24 of my main's boffs through and photoshop them into a crew photo.

The Command BCs are some of the nicest ships to come out of Cryptic's design team. Love the Romulan Scimitar-inspired wings, love the Excelsior+ design of Fed ships. And even though I don't find the Klingon ships all that great I have to admit that they're similar to many of the more box-shaped ships that the KDF have used in-show and elsewhere in ST games - it's less a gripe with Cryptic, and more I don't like KDF design in general.

I just bought one ship, the Deihu (science), to run as a full-out support ship. If I played more in the other factions mind you, yeah the full 9-pack would be hella tempting.

And my female Orion, while having the well endowed chest... regularly wears Mercenary clothes with an Elachi Crescent Pistol on her hip. She doesn't always run around in the metal Bikini.

I'm also a guy in RL, but if I'm gonna be looking at a pixelated butt on a screen... might as well be a nice one. :D

Anyways... on the topic at hand...
I really wasn't getting hit with the siren song for the Command Cruisers when they came out. Then again... I already had a goal I was working towards, and with luck by the end of the Crystaline event... I will have achieved said goal.
May the Dilithium Exchange show mercy on this tired, dedicated grinder.

I too have been tempted by the naughtiness of the pack and am embarking on the EPIC grind of Dilithium to get it.
RL cash flow has meant I cannot spend money on STO at the moment, and have never really taken on a Dilithium grind for anything even remotely of this magnitude but I think... no I KNOW that I must do it, I must haveth the preciouses...
