I usually like your video, and please don't take this the wrong way.

I hope people use this video as the shining example of what NOT to do in this event. I have had a couple of times where this event failed because people do exactly the same thing you do in this video. When it tells you to hold fire, instead of switching targets off the Entity or holding fire, you just keep blasting away and then take the pulse right in the face.

When the Entity is absorbing, it's building energy to re-direct at the players. The more people that keep firing, the more powerful the pulse. If more then 30% of the players are killed in the pulse, the event fails. Luckily, your event didn't fail because the rest of your team stayed alive.

It's very simple, the further away you move, the less damage you take from the pulse. At 10km you take zero damage. I have been in a couple of games where people just parked and kept firing and then the pulse ended the mission. It's perfectly safe to keep shooting at the other enemies while you move off. If you have a heavy cruiser that can take it, that's fine but either way you should not continue to fire at the Entity while it's Absorbing. While you might be able to take it, if your team can't, you'll fail the mission.

I would kindly suggest maybe re-doing the video. I know a lot of people watch your videos, including me and I would hope you would want to show them the correct way of doing it.

Again, apologies if this sounds snarky, it's not meant to. I like your stuff, I just wish the video didn't show players a method that could cause their entire team to fail.

    Thanks.

LOL - I like the way you put that. Yeah I see dummies doing that as well, but I just play Normal so we never fail.

On normal, any ship with decent tanking capability can tank the pulse. If you have Aegis you can pretty much sit there and laugh at it.... Seriously... The character I have that uses Aegis doesn't need any more tanking than running EptS all the time. the CE can't touch her ship. :P

A lot of ships can tank the pulse even on advanced. You also could use the Rock and Roll ability just before you get hit by the pulse. That way you take zero damage from it.;)

You forget that nowadays in STO even Escorts can tank effectively I can easily tank the Crystaline pulse in Advanced in my Manasa escort.

I can tank it as well, that's not really the point.

The point is, there are players that can't and they need to be shown the correct way. If enough of them do it wrong on advanced it fails the mission.

There is no question at all that many players (myself included) can tank the pulse even on Advanced. Just because I can or you can, doesn't mean your team mates can.

Yes, well, they should learn to tank it. Tanking is an important part of this event.

If I can tank the pulse in my weakest ship, a Risian Corvette, then anybody can tank the pulse. It's not difficult.

i did not watch the vid. no interest in watching a feddy bear play. but your comments are pretty much the reason why i dont watch feds play and hate cross faction ques.

when our fleet rolls in to a entity we ONLY target the entity and tank all other enemies and the blast and finish it in advanced with atleast 1.5 min on the clock usually more.

the more damage you do to it while its charging the faster it pops aswell . so you can clear it out with plenty of time to spare no worrie of a fail. other than the 5 feds on the other team not having proper builds or being the typical bad captains that they are and doing as you say.
Trophies for killing FEDS ahh those were the days. Ch'ar%20POST%20LoR.JPG

LoL I usually hold fire if I do this one, but the people playing are very new right now. I went in on a science officer so he was squishy and got first place even though he died 3 times. I did not run I just sat on top of it today because no one else ran. Most people didnt die (well a couple did) but since he was the one holding all the agro I figured meh whatevers. It was the messiest one I have done in a long time.

The reality is though that those playing now dont know it and the numbers are up because its new players in there. It was very funny to watch but really with the fact that many dont even speak english on top of the rest its just not worth bothering. Either they learn or not. However I did it 3 times today on 3 guys and by the time I got to the squishy science officer I just decided to stay put and dps the thing down and get it over with and just make sure to not die during the pulse so it would not fail.

Lets just say that since everything was after my dude no one else died so it all worked out in the end. :/
