We all know that cryptic like to make money.
Hows this for a wild idea. There would be winners all round.
Ok its probably a dream but what the heck,
That as an option, players pay for a bank and exchange to be fitted onto any ship of their choosing. assuming its in zen from the store.
Once bought, the ship is taken to a shipyard for the required refit.

I have a bank & exchange on my Ferengi D'kora (and a dabo table) and I find it very useful to be able to beam to my ship from a planet with no exchange & do my trading, then beam back down.

They should definitely think about adding this to other ships. There are plenty of spare consoles on bridges (except the tholian one. Have you seen that? It looks awful) so it could be done.

The question is, will Cryptic see any money in it?

Using a modified version of the Foundry to create customizable ship interiors would be the way to go. There are quite a few decorations in SWTOR's lockboxes that sell for a lot. The basic decorations would be for free, but if you want a Borg, Orion, Andorian, Vulcan, etc decorations, then you could buy them through the C-Store. Also, some of the more impressive ones could be added to the lockboxes so the grand prizes are no longer just ships.

I honestly don't know why they didn't do this from the start. The player homes in Star Wars and Rift are great and I would love something like that for ship bridges in STO

From what I remember, Stahl was investigating this when he was still EP. The idea was to integrate the features from Neverwinter Nights. Unfortunately, the tech was incompatible and nothing came of it back then.

Haven't heard anything about it being incompatible since STO, Neverwinter, and CO run on the same engine. If it is possible on Neverwinter, then it is possible on STO.
