possible home-story storlines

Is it possible that we could do some stories from the alpha and beta quadrants? Doesn't need to be an arc. Well, we could establish an arc in which you're assigned to do a series of patrols in the Alpha Quadrant to deal with a restive population, following the attacks on Earth and the quelling of unrest on Bajor stirred by the Undine.

Over this arc, we could find out details on what happened with the Marquis following the Dominion war. Did the Federation annex the DMZ entirely? How did Bajor handle Allied troops deployed to deal with the unrest and the Undine? What damage did the planetkillers do to key Federation and allied worlds? You're called home as an expert in Undine tactics and your ship is battle hardened. You're the expert and you're called home to show the flag that Starfleet still cares. Your crew wanted shore leave and a break from constant battle so you're recalled home for some patrols and showing the flag to the Federation colonies along the Cardassian border. You're to ultimately improve relations and get the Cardassians to either deploy small fleets in the Delta Quadrant or seek membership in the Federation.

Did the Klingons find the Fek'lhrs? There should be more to that storyline. Were they sent to the Klingons by the Iconians? Evidence recently uncovers calls you home, as the hero of the Empire in the Fek'lhrs crisis. You're sent on a trail to uncover who really unleashed them on the Empire. It could either end in a duel with the Klingon Chancellor as he did that in a means to strengthen his power. Or Iconians were doing that to stir up trouble.

The Romulans, now this I'd like... An assassination attempt on D'Tan calls you home from the Delta Quadrant. You're sent on a series of missions across the republican and the empire, trying to find out who the assassin was in an attempt to avert war between the two romulan forces. It'd be awesome if it failed, unrest stirred by the Iconians as punishment for Sela escaping. This should end with an all out war between both sides and the Federation/Klingon alliance forced to redeploy troops to put an end to the Romulan Empire who's leaders have sided with the Iconians. How it ends? Some sort of allied invasion of Raptor III or an uncover mission in which you're sent to expose certain Romulan leaders who are sided with the Iconians so that their elite will revolt and put an end to the civil war. Honestly? I want to see the invasion of Raptor III, an epic battle in which your forces annihilate the Empire. Depending on what your race is, you'd get different responses. (At this point, all factions get access to the final battle, following completion of their own story arc. Federation and Klingon toons would be informed that the Romulans have split into a civil war and D'Tan has asked us to end it. They presented us with evidence of the Iconians interfering. We must end this.") Humans would say "Finally, our centuries old riveries are over." Vuclans would say "It is tragic that reunification is being achieved by force." Other races wouldn't really have a comment and the Klingons would just say "IT IS A GOOD DAY TO DIE!"It'd be an epic space battle, kind of like Kortez, but you're not invading in waves, sending in specific forces to do specific things. No, it's a knock down drag out fight. Remember, the Federation, Klingons and the Republic absolutely hates the Empire. The danger of forgetting yourself is very real in this battle. You're sent to command a specific task force that you can pick.

How would this work? Science ships, escorts, cruisers or what class specialty your faction has. The escort warships would be ordered to rack up the kills and break a hole through the enemy lines for cruisers to begin their assault. You're deployed at stage one.
Cruisers would be ordered to engage capital ships, platforms and escort transports. Deployed at stage two of the battle.
Science fleets would go in spreading utter chaos with the role of disrupting the enemy's reinforcements. You'd be deployed at stage three of the battle. Your orders are to keep the enemy back and outside the 10 km radius of the transport ships until beamdown is complete. You'd be asked to use your advanced sensors for the cruisers to bring down Raptor III's defence shields.

If you come in with a team that covers all three classes, it could be possible to partake in all three stages of the battle, otherwise the stages you're not able to do, can be skipped at your choice. If you're soloing and choose to skip the other stages, then once that's done, you begin the ground assault.

The ground assault would be simple. Engineers would attack the main target and destroy their defences. Tactical would breech the lines with ground troops and proceed to the target in close quarters. Science would proceed in to heal troops.

How does ground work? Each defence you destroy for engineers give your troops more of an advantage (like spire on the Voth front). Each enemy you kill as a tactical would increase your tactical advantage and for science, each fallen redshirt you heal adds to the advantage. all happens at the same time, unlike space. So a team of three with all three career paths would probably be able to rack up the advantage pretty fast. The point of the advantage? XP rewarded. Each revived, destroyed or killed, etc adds a bonus xp to your team. Same for space. completing each stage adds a bonus reward, such as an extra 1k xp.

I think this would be good. You'd be able to add some storylines from post-dominion war for the Federation during their patrols. The Klingons could have their faith explained in more details and the Romulans would see the Republic defeat the Empire, establishing peace finally between the Romulans and the others. New sector blocks wouldn't need to be added, new reps, none of that. Just storyline, rewards and all that.

I'm just essentially tired of adding new ways to play. I'd like content, more content and not more reps and that.

    I'd support that OP.

I really just want to see new missions, new storylines. Those are why I play STO and I've been shafted as far as storyline content goes for the last couple seasons or so.

It'd be a real pleasure seeing some of the loose ends in the alpha quadrant nicely resolved over a series of missions.

the storyline we got is nice, but there's a lot of effort put into creating new reps. I dont want new reps, what we got is good for now. Let's go back to more stories and less ohh shiny toys
