have they broke something ?

i noticed its been a little more grindy than usual since last patch so i just looked at my weapons

my dual ap mk xiv crit dx3 beam reads as follows

without console or obelisk enhancements
reports as 1785.6 damage
with a mk xii purple antiproton mag 1905 ap damage
with a mk xiv spire console 1927 so a whole 12 extra damage for thousands in dill and lot of upgrades between the mk xii standard and a mk xiv enhanced and that cant be right ???

am i missing something ? on 35% shouldnt it be 2421 ? and 2321 on mk xii purp

base wep dps x 35.5% does not equal what states

    that gives the 10% bonus it changes to 1931 without tac consoles - so the obelisk is currently giving out more damage on 10% ap bonus than the upgraded tac consoles on calc (that should be 1963) but still its higher than the consoles which is 1927

    Welcome to math with Cryptic. 1927/1905 is a 1.11% difference. That's actually about what I'd expect for that upgrade. Here, give this a read and see if it makes any sense.

    aye but the obelisk giving more than the tac consoles ??
    it seems to me its missing about 25% of the damage if the 2 part obelisk is correct:cool:

    aye beam 1785 + 10% obelisk = 1963 (slightly out)

    beam + Mk XII Ap beam mag (30%) = 1905 - (should be 2320)

    beam + 35.5% xiv should be = 2418

    but its 1927.4 - 142 more damage than the weps base - that does not compute lol
    a whole 12 more damage for thousands in dil ...lol :)

    If you read what I posted, the obelisk is in a different category. Since you didn't, I'll explain here:

    Damage in space=(base damage of weapon+bonuses from mark, rarity, and Dmg mods+tac consoles+skill points+most 2-sets+AMP) * (Obelisk 2-set (and a few others)+EPTW+APA+APO+GDF+Tac Fleet+Crit Severity+Nukara Aux->Offense+Pirate) * (Weapon enhancements (FAW/etc) * (Weapons power/50)

    So, the 10% from the obelisk 2-set is increasing the bonus damage from tac consoles, weapon mark/rarity/etc, skill points, and more, while the tac console is just acting on the 100 base damage of the weapon. That's why it's coming out to be more.

    Tac consoles each apply bonus as if you were using a basic weapon at a set power level (50?). the bonus is not really modified by anything else.

    the Obelisk bonus should be an end of the equation bonus, meaning most other modifiers should be calculated before it.
