There's no doubt some truth in the rumour of a new Dominion/Jem Hadar ship, but I doubt it'll be the Attack Ship. Most likely (as Cryptic have just released a bunch of Command ships) the latest alien ship we'll be seeing will be the Dominion/Jem Hadar Battleship.
I believe the rumours stem from one of the three-piece sets becoming a four-piece set, except the new item has yet to be seen in-game, thus it's probably incoming.
Keep seeing in zone chat and different channels about a new T6 JHAS.
Rumor or Fact
I'd love for it to be fact, because although I don't care about the JHAS specifically, bringing out a T6 version of it means that Cryptic is open to the idea of converting current T5 vessels over to T6, which is something I'd very much like to see.

I wouldn't hold your breath. If it is the Attack Ship, then that's going to be a huge seller (cause lots of people are going to try for one, and that means a lot of zen is being purchased). The same cannot be said for an upgrade of a c-store ship; they'll never get the same number on cash returns.
The best we can hope for in this regard is that they (re)release all of the lock box ships like the Galor, D'kora and such, but even then I'm not too optimistic.
JHAS is passe and obsolete. Its boff seating is nothing special now and current T5 ships surpass it in many ways. It won't be updated. If anything a new JH ship would be a separate entity, not at all derived from the JHAS.

I don't know about any of that...
But, I do know that my EC wallet is ready. Because reasons.
..appears to be some kind of super-bug that's able to equip Intel AND Command boffs.
Looks like the crafting box promotion gambling is going to become the new lockbox.. (Kind of sad that it appears we're never going to be getting another Bulwark release - T5 promotion ships should be moved to the Lobi store or something.)

Indeed. It is... disappointing.
Logic would dictate that if you've got a perfectly capable existing ship that many people desire and would pay toward acquiring (like the battleship) you would use that before designing and creating a brand new ship to fill the purpose.
If we've learned one thing today, it is that Cryptic are not run by Vulcans.
I think they figured an updated JHAS (JHSS now, since it's called a Strike Ship) would generate more revenue than selling a battleship.
Mo money, mo money, mo money. $$$ $$$
You underestimate what the name "Dreadnought" or "Battleship" would do for ship sales simply by having any of those words in a ship's name. Nevermind what the actual stats and capabilities of the ship are. People will go bat**** insane for a ship with any of those 2 words.
I refer you to all those Fed Shipyard Subforum requests asking for a Fed Dreadnought or a Fed Battleship. Nevermind that ships already exist even in the ship cruiser lineup that fit those descriptions quite easily.

The Dreadnought Cruiser kind of begs to differ with your point...
"Why all the sales"?
And a merry freaking Christmas to you too, Ebenezer.

The Failaxy-X? That sold quite well because it had a Gal-X skin as well as having "Dreadnought" in the title. Despite the revamp did nothing to alleviate the issues inherent to the Galaxy-class and its variants. It was still a subpar ship but sold very well.
It had the great protection but lacks the firepower. You could slap 10 TAC Consoles on it and it will not compensate for the fact that it's only got a Lt & Ens TAC station setup. A plain 'ol Lv 40 Assault Cruiser is almost its equal and the Excelsior, Regent/Fleet Sovereign, Avenger, Odyssey, Eclipse, Guardian, and now Command Cruisers surpass it in firepower. They have the staying power inherent in all Cruisers but have the firepower to back it up. Unlike the Failaxy-X.
And again, the Failaxy-X sold well despite it being a garbage ship.

It's about the Tac consoles, setup, and a size to match it. What the Feds want is basically more or less a broadsiding Scimitar (cloak optional but overrated), either as an original ship or making the NPC Typhoon and Jupiter available with a heavy Tactical orientation and some flexibility to work with (like the Scimitar; 3-pack or not).
As for the few ships Feds do have that could be classed as such; none are the battleships they desire. They do have a few Dreadnought-level ships, and a few battle cruisers though.
The Galaxy-X is a Dreadnought, and has a BFG and 4 Tac console options, but is limited by its bridge seating.
The Mirror Odyssey is classed as a Dreadnought; so the possibility is there for the C-Store trio to be considered one too. Either way, they manage to do the Dreadnought role well enough (large, fairly imposing, and capable taking and dishing out reasonable amounts of damage). Not very Tac-oriented even on the Tac variant though to be classed as a battleship.
The Avenger is lacking on size, but does have a working console setup like the Dreadnought. It's weapons are 5/3 though, so not as conductive to broadsiding, and not the most ideal bridge setup (according to some).
The Eclipse comes close, having the size (using default nacelles to match the Odyssey for length), firepower potential, and boff setup (convenient thanks to the Hybrid seats), but some players have issues with its looks and limited Tac console setup.
Back to what's in a name; the Sheshar Dreadnought proved to be pretty popular for those who have it and tried for it; and while not quite the actual battleship or battle cruiser, it does have the imposing size and a working setup to manage. Same for the Voth Bulwark Dreadnought to a lesser extent, when that one was still popular.
Back on topic proper: Fitting 2 specs on a non-specialized ship might or might not be a good thing. At worst; it'd be two Lt. Hybrid seats. Least likely; 2 Lt.Cmdr Hybrid seats.
Probably; 1 Lt.Cmdr Hybrid and 1 Lt Hybrid; with the Lt. Hybrid being Intel and the Lt.Cmdr Hybrid being Command, given the number of requests there were for a Command-capable Escort. Something will have to be sacrificed though for those 2 hybrid seats; and I suspect it might be either one Universal seat and the Lt.Cmdr Tac, or both Universal seats (if it's only double Lt. Hybrid seating).

Heh that interesting but yea chats seem full of rumours as of late.
A tier 6 JHAS with a superb trait and some cool intel/command uni slots would be something worth getting for me if the stats arent totally messed up. Another commandbattelcuriserdreadblabala or what so ever however not. Already skipped getting new ships for half a year or so.
I guess I either need a billion ec soonish or not to bother at all.

Seeing how the vadwaur escort turned out I expect another 5/x(3?) layout with 5 tac consoles and a for escort standards ludicrous high shield mod and with a completly op trait as topping.
So you better start banking up cash 'cause that thing will be really expensive.

Something like that, just hope they leave the turn rate as it is as well.
For me Cryptic has not managed to release a ship I really want to have for a long time.

Will such a theoretical T6 JHSS/JHAS also allow access to the JHAS frigate pets? Or a newer variant that uses SS1 at Adv and Elite variants?
