The real victims are all the players that he's telling how to play the game his way. Maybe he should get a private server if he wants to be God.
Or perhaps, those who want to celebrate like that should get on an instance with few people on it and then keep chatter to local rather than zone. Likewise for the more sombre types.
The real problem is the so called "people" using this event to stir the pot. They know who they are.
Sorry, I'm not seeing how someone demanding everyone behave a certain way in public zones is a victim. Shoot even having a discoball dropped on your cartoon character's head I would hardly equate to being victimized.
Now if a group of certain oral fetishists showed up at your house, kicked the door in and ganked you with a needle full of novocaine, yes then you would be a victim.
I'm sorry, but he or she cannot possibly be so oblivious to what happened that he or she might think it is a good idea to announce that they are doing the same thing again and even give instructions as to how to behave this time around.
This has nothing to do with mourning and I find it sad that the passing of a human being is utilized for this kind of nonsense (not the mourning, but the pitiful "fight") in a computer game.

One should not concern themselves about organizing others to mourn in a particular way. You'll only be disapointed. Don't let the actions of others upset you, Spock would say that is illogical.
He would also say its illogical to expect everyone act a certain way.
This is not about others and how they "should or should not act" in this time of saddness.
Do what YOU must do to say goodbye, never let anyone elses actions hamper your spirit.

leave any pets, party favors and anything else of that nature behind.

Do none of these things.
A pathetic "attempt" to "honor" Leonard Nimoy while playing a stupid video game is entirely self serving and serves no purpose other than to make the alleged "mourner" feel good about himself. Something I have no interest in and care even less about.
I'll keep my own counsel about how, where, and when I honor the memory of Leonard Nimoy.
And before one of the special snowflakes gets their panties bunched hard enough to cut off the rest of the blood flow to what passes for their brain, I most definitely will not be doing so inside STO. A project with which he had only the lightest of contact.

When companies decided this was a bad idea the modern tattletale troll evolved to fit

Their main goal is to get you to violate some rule so they can tattle on you. That and
forced interaction are their bread and butter.

Sorry, OP, but you carry ZERO authority both on these forums and in-game, and I don't see why I have to honor specific parameters while expressing grief, or, in my case, celebrating a life.
That's because he isn't assuming any authority he isn't entitled to. Everything the original poster said is pointing out what someone with the slightest modicum of common decency would be doing anyway.
All those running through instances dropping the disco balls, shooting off the noise guns and firing the fire extinguishers should be levied with a permanent ban for ToS violations (and yes, they are in blatant violation of the ToS for doing it).

I feel bad as much as the next guy, but no. RP is totally creepy. And please stop demanding that people RP in the game.
In fact, such creepy demands almost make me want to roll a "Zombie Spock" toon of my own and have him shuffling around ESD going "BRAINS AND BRAINS! WHAT IS BRAINS?" just to tweak creepy RPers like you who are taking things far too seriously.

I am a decent person and when someone dies in old age after a long life I attend celebrations of that persons life good deeds and the love they shared.
I guess your saying because I went to a party for my grandfather and had a legitimately good time, I am some how not a decent person. You make me want to get nasty with you... however I won't cause Mr. Nimoy wouldn't have wanted that no doubt.
Bottom line Mr. Nimoy was older then my grandfather... had plenty of family he obviously loved and was loved by. To top it off he has done a lot of things that will be remembered by millions for years to come. So by that standard his party is every bit as valid as the one I attended for my grandfather.
You should perhaps grok the meaning of trek a little bit before you decide that someone who looks at the world though the eyes of another culture must be indecent.

Your running around, popping disco balls, firing off noise guns and shooting fire extinguishes is blatantly violating that segment of the ToS. (The violation is under the 'any other disruptive or detrimental methods in an attempt to disturb other users'.)

Where is standing around the normal flow of game play? People standing around blocking the ability for people to interact with the NPC while they are doing the story mission on Vulcan would be considered disrupting the normal flow of game play. You should be banned for standing there.

Hardly I think you better re read those words and attempt to understand them a little better.
Did anyone celebrating use foul language ? Not that I remember after being there for the first 4-5 hours yesterday. Quite the opposite it was hurled at us what was returned was "peace and love".
Abuse... nope no one did that. ALL CAPS... nope no one attending Mr. Nimoys party did that as far as I noticed.
Detrimental methods? if you mean using the devices CRYPTIC sells us to have parties with... umm I hate to break it to you dude. We where at a party for Mr. Niomy and used the Cryptic approved devices intended to be used at parties.
The only TOS violations I witnessed where carried out by a very very small handful of the "OMG your trolling" crowd who did things like PM nasty messages to party goers.

The abuse of those items was indeed Disruptive (you know, the other part in 'Disruptive or Detrimental'), and it was done solely for the purpose of disturbing others, as is plainly obvious despite the veiled attempts at claims otherwise.
Those wishing a "party" as opposed to running around trolling should have politely requested that they take an instance and used team invites to get those who wanted that way in once it was full (though it would never be full because "party" was nothing more than an excuse to attempt getting away with disruptive behavior).

What attempts... and how is anything Veiled. No one there said we where doing anything other then celebrating the life of someone we respected. No one here was done anything but try and explain our feelings on the matter.
You can claim you where disrupted all you like... if you didn't want to attend the party what where you doing there ?
Don't show up at a party for Mr. Nimoy and be upset when you find a party going on.
People weren't there for a "party". They were there to respectfully honor the passing of a great man.
The trolls weren't there for a "party". There were there solely to disrupt and cause issues for those wishing to honor said great man.
How naive and selfish are players like you? They were celebrating his life. If you really wish to do what OP desires, go worship your false gods at orion or risa or whatever your ilk congregates.

I was there to party. I have clearly stated such. I am not someone who I believe people look at as a game troll. I was not the only one I knew there to have a party.
There are many reasons to have a "party", contrary to what some believe it is very possible to morn someone and have a good time remembering them all at the same time.
Somber meetings to lay someone to rest imo are for people taken before there time... people who leave us with unfinished works.
Mr. Nimoy has left us at a point in his life where he has welcomed Great Grandchildren to the world, has seen his best known works pass the 50 year mark and retain every bit of there relevance. His passions like photography and poetry have been praised in his own life time. That is exactly the type of life you can remember with a smile when the time comes. Did I myself shed a few tears when I heard the news... yes I did. Shortly after I smiled remembering the mans work, and 5 min after that felt truly happy for him, knowing he led the type of impactful life we should all aspire to.
So yes I went to Vulcan to share that feeling of joy and hope... I wasn't alone. So don't presume to tell me how I should feel thank you.

I purpose a rememberance statue of AMB. Spock be built on Vulcan.
To remember both the actor {Leonard Nimoy) and the character he played (Spock).
Because In this universe he did go missing trying to stop the destruction of the Romulan Homeworld.
It could be like Wolf359.
Just a place to visit and remember.
Man, that is a tall order, I wonder if Cryptic can pull it off!

Sheldon often does.
