As we all know, Leonard Nimoy's Spock was a different kind of hero. He rarely carried a weapon, he avoided violence whenever possible, and he always thought first and shot last and only when necessary. His iconic piece of gear was the tricorder, the scanning and computing device that was the tool of a scientist. With it, he gathered data, did research, and computed solutions to problems large and small. Spock's tricorder was his science station condensed to portable form, and an extension of his character.
Thus, I suggest that Mr Nimoy's Spock memorial statue should be holding a tricorder, forever scanning, forever gathering data, and projecting a bright beam into the heavens as a beacon of knowledge and science. The bright blue beam, forever lit and brightly shining, would be a most fitting tribute I think to what the character stood for and in many ways what the man who created almost everything recognizable about him stood for as well.
I also believe his memorial statue should be either dressed in or adorned with Science Department Blue, as befits his dedication to the pursuit of Science, Learning, and Knowledge. He was an Ambassador in his later years, surely, but at his core he was a man of Science.
Let his memorial reflect his love of Science as the towering intellect he was.
STO isn't about "science" or "scanning". It is about Pew Pew...
The Statue should be Spock holding two phasers.
That made me laugh
Sad thing is that it's true as well.
