"New Link" Rewards changes and [Dmg] Modifier / a few Numbers and calculations ...

preikopreiko Member Posts: 316 Arc User
The Patchnotes of February 26th, 2015

The "Chroniton Flux Torpedo" reward from "The New Link" was just a Chroniton torpedo with [Dmg]x2, and it now displays as such.
It can be upgraded like a normal Chroniton torpedo.

--> Not quite right the "Chroniton Flux Torpedo" was a hidden Blue [Dmg]x3 weapon. [about 2.664,6 dmg]
----> i discovered it because it had stronger base Damage then my Purple "Chroniton Torpedo Laucher [CrtD]x3" [2638.1 dmg]

Updated the Polarized Tetryon Beam Array and Polarized Dual Tetryon Beam Bank from the mission rewards of "The New Link".
-- In order to reduce confusion with other Polarized weapons, these are now labeled as "Resonating Tetryon" weapons.
-- These now have two mods: [Chance] and [Dmg].
>>>>> This means that their damage output should be comparable to other blue Tetryon weapons of the same type.
>>>>> Their [Chance] mod means that they have a 5% chance to cause extra shield drain which is down from the previous 10%, because they now inflict more base damage.

--> "Polarized Tetryon Beam Array" & "Polarized Dual Tetryon Beam Bank" -- was a like blue Tetryon Weapon with the modifiers [TetProc]x3 and a MINUS [Dmg] modifier (they both missed base damge - the exact amount of one Beam Array [dmg] (-5) modifier and the Beam Bank (-6,5)

[TetProc] would be a better name ... but "[Chance]" it is

It is really sad, that they took the 10% Chance away, after they did not work for a very long time (proc chance about 1% for almost a year)
before that this Weapon was THE best "Anti-Shield-Weapon, for PvE and PvP ... (my personal opinion)

REST IN PEACE Polarized Tetryon Weapons :-(

Please someone should remove the [Dmg] Modifier and add a extra [Chance]

The precious (and unchanged) [Dmg] Modifier Cryptic attach to everything - is a joke, no kidding

This [Dmg] Modifier on "Space Energie Weapons", "Torpedos" and E-S-P-E-C-I-A-L-L-Y for Ground Weapons
are weak you will not believe when you check numbers

Ground Weapons - [Dmg](x1) = are often only a ZERO PIONT SOMETHING (exaple Phaser Wide and Stun Beam +0.7 dmg) a Blast Assault [+1.4 dmg]
Space Weapons - [Dmg](x1) = from Turrets (+2.2 dmg) over Beams (+5.0 dmg) to Dual Heavy Cannons (+8.7 dmg)
Torpedos - [Dmg](x1) = from Transphasic (+46.9 dmg) to Quantum (+75,1 dmg) ... NOW THE FUNNY THING Tricobalt does NOT CARE ABOUT [Dmg] Modifiers at all -- NO EFFECT

This modifers are static for every weapon, that is the reason why they loose their effectivness by every on Mark

example

Beam Array (0 skill points in Weapon increasing talents)
Basic Dmg Mark I - 108.2 (white) --> 110.7 (green) --> 113.3 (blue) --> 115.8 (purple)

Calculating:
115.8 dmg equals 100%
Beam Arrays with one [Dmg] = 115.8 + 5.0 = 220.8 dmg

1,158 dmg equals 1% of 115.8
[Dmg] = 5.0 : 1.158 = 4,317 % damage increase [Basic Damage increase with one [dmg] Modifier on Mark II with 50 Weapon Energie

Basic Dmg Mark XII - 220.4 (white) --> 222.9 (green) --> 225.4 (blue) --> 227.9 (purple)
Calculating:
227.9 dmg equals 100%
2.279 dmg equals 1 % of 227.9 dmg
Beam Arrays with one [Dmg] = 227,9 + 5,0 = 232.4 dmg

[Dmg] = 5.0 : 2.279 = 2,194 % damage increase [Basic Damage increase with one [dmg] Modifier on Mark II with 50 Weapon Energy

i could bring in entire "Walls" of Numbers and Calculations but i don´t think you are really interested in them. jsut think about it

Have a nice Day, feel free to bomb that threat with as many hater and trollpost as possible :-D

It is sad when they nerf the entire universe for little to no reason. Tetryons suck. Period. The shield drain is pathetic. The only hope was using a special tetryon (one that bounced to several targets, or one that had a slightly higher chance to proc). Even when the proc was broken it still seemed way better than bog standard tetryons.

The changes are terrible, and all of our feedback on the tribble forum went on deaf ears.

Here is a Energy Space Weapon Chart,
it shows all Basic values at 50 Weapons Power and from white Weapons

the Number under the Mk XII shows the level difference from Mark to Mark

under that you find white to green
    under that green to blue
    under that blue to purple
under that Purple to Ultra Rare

then you see the [Dmg] Modifier addition to that ...

    10854925_824330780970814_2510047948897042340_o.jpg

    Note:
All numbers represent the exact Values in game, but there are deviations of 0.1 when you put them together

Every [Dmg] effect on space Weapons

    Beam Array + 5.0 dmg
Dual Beam Bank + 6,5 dmg
    Turret + 2,2 dmg
    Cannon + 3,6 dmg
    Dual Cannon + 4,3 dmg
Dual Heavy Cannon + 8,7 dmg

    Transpasic +46,9 dmg
    Plasma +53.1 dmg
    Chroniton +57,8 dmg
    Photon +67.6 dmg
    Quantum +75.1 dmg
    Tricobalt + 0.0 dmg

[Dmg] effect on Ground Weapons (0.1 deviation depends on Mark )

wide Beam pistol + 0.8 dmg
Stun Beam Pistol + 0.8 dmg
    Dual Pistols + 0.8 dmg

    Compression Pistol + 1,0 dmg
    Split Beam + 1,0 dmg
    High Dense + 1,0 dmg
    Full Auto + 1,0 dmg
    Minigun + 1,0 dmg

    Sniper Rifle + 1,4 dmg

    Blast Assault + 2,0 dmg

    Pulsewave + 3,0 dmg

there are many Sub-classes of ground weapons that have a complete other [Dmg]
for example a Voth Sniper rife just got 0.7 from a [Dmg]

a cross the board the [Dmg] is about two piont two Percent base damage increase and gets worse with increasing Mark

[PvP Dmg] is so so so much worse +3 dmg vs. player

EVEN IF you would have all 11 items (8 weapons + Deflector + Engine + Shield)
you only get +33 dmg vs. Player .... have you checked the hull Strengh lately ?

[every other Modifier is much much better]

[PvP Res] gives +8 bonus resistence rating
8 x 11 = 88 total resistence rating if you get all parts together
that for the price of significant reduce you offensive potential

    ----

i vote for a complete removal on theses Modifiers

    [Dmg]
    [PvP Dmg]
    [PvP Res]

The changes are terrible, and all of our feedback on the tribble forum went on deaf ears.

I am of the mind that this defeats the purpose of Tribble. Worse still, it demonstrates an utter disregard for the last defense against the implantation of something awful - players who care about the state of the game. Indeed, I rely on individuals to test things out on the so-called test server for the purpose of preventing haphazard applications, then, to find out that their warnings and red flags went unheeded only serves to instill in me more distrust of the devs.

All new products go through a test panel with feedback followed by improvements - except, seemingly, this one.

I say they're on a weird nerfing spree these days. :)

If anything, Tetryon should have gotten a *major* buff.
