Thank you very much for fixing the UI Lag! I'm not sure how much longer I would have kept playing while that bug existed! Thanks again for saving my STO life!!
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
The way I see it....no one hesitates to come to the forums and complain about bugs but seldom do you see anyone thanking the Devs for fixing bugs. So I'm thanking them....that ok with you?
I bought the Fed Command 3pack since it was on sale, but before heading off to dork around with that I did my basic DOFFing stuff on my other guys. I was impressed by how crisp and smooth everything was there. No issues with the UI, no issues zoning, running around, flying around, whatever...was all good.
Then I headed off to level the Masteries on the three ships to unlock the traits (only intended to fly one, but wanted the platforms and traits to dork around with). I hit up various patrols, the battlezone, some CCA, just going around and around. Wham, bam, damn...done with the first ship. Do it again with the second. Same thing, it's all good...going great. Do it again with the third, and that's when I made the fatal mistake.
"Oh this is so cool, they fixed that mess!"
Then I did an ISA...and it was the most lagtastic unplayable nightmare of screen punching frustration I have ever experienced in the game. It was like all the lag/latency that had been spread throughout the game with a little here and a little there was all bunched up together waiting for me in that ISA. One guy dropped a couple of times, one guy dropped and never came back, and how we managed to get the optional I've got no idea - took over 14 minutes and nobody parsed over 12k. It wasn't even a slideshow...it was just sitting there as if it had completely locked up and then it would start moving again...rubberbanding all over the place - weapons wouldn't fire - abilities wouldn't activate...asked if maybe it was me, but two of the folks said it was laggy as Hell for them too.

^^this...it says a lot about the forum that arguably the biggest bug effecting the game lately finally gets fixed and it took this long for even one person to even mention it.....all anyone wants to do is complain about a 30 minute CD added to a patrol that last week most people hated to re-run anyway

LOL Hahahahaha. People thank Cryptic all the time, it just gets swallowed up by a super massive blackhole of complaints, hostile bug reports, and down right rudeness from being incompetent...
...Anyway, I just wanna thank cryptic for fixing the UI lag, the aceton console, and the park lag in the Dyson zone. The Dyson zone no longer turns STO into a slideshow (aka 1 frame every 5 seconds).
*cheers*
The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.

...and yeah, I logged out after that run.
At this weeks lagaholics anonymous counseling session: Ok, I'm sure everyone has lost a love one to lag at one time or another. John, what happened to you? How did you learn from it? Well, (holds back the tears) a few months ago, I lost a fleetmate to lag in a game I play called star trek online. One moment he was there and then, poof, he was gone, just like that! I never saw or heard from him again! (counselor and group gasp in surprise).
I would not describe it as fixed. I have many grayed out abilities - especially GW and on the ground pounce and lunge. Also ground heals. Instead of jamming the shield recharge 10 times to get it to work it's now 6.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
The power tray button response was much better for me last night, and the EV suit thruster button is once again working as normal (it was really annoying to have to click on a greyed-out button, with its accompanying "inoperative" sound). As always, though, that UI fix also broke the countdown timer on "Tour the Galaxy"; the timer displays, but does not count down any more, only changing when the cursor rolls over it, or warping to a new system.

I jinxed myself earlier.

Dunno if it's a memory leak or what, but since Cryptic started addressing the UI problems the game has started randomly crashing for some people.

Yup mine locked solid last night. I was expecting it to do the usual CTD but I had to kill it from task manager instead.
I'll see what happens tonight.
