I'm sure I'm missing something, and this thread'll get buried quickly and serve as nothing but a mildly embarrassing footnote. That said, is the double XP event live? An Argala run gave me ~5,000 Specialization XP, same as pre-patch, and some of the 'good XP' DOff assignments also appear to be granting only normal XP (on the order of 2,000 Specialization XP). Were the base rewards cut and I missed it, is the event not supposed to be live and I mis-read it, or is something else (fishy or otherwise) going on?
Thanks, both for the answers and for not razzing me too badly when it turns out to have been really obvious.

The base reward from Argala was cut, and there's a lovely 30 minute cooldown too. Enjoy.

And remember it's still a bonus weekend...on Monday Argala=2500. All others~1000. Don't think you will find anything close to the old Argala rewards (5k) anywhere for a while come Monday.
except maybe in the ques, just did an isa and got more than 12k
Yeah, I knew that. 'Event' was a poor choice of word on my part. Can't say as I'm surprised to see Argala rewards cut, either. I just hope that, with these changes, things get balanced in such a way that there's still a relatively smooth sense of progression. Haven't had that in awhile, and it'd be nice to have back.
Tell me again when you run it on Monday...again dude this is a BONUS weekend
And all the players love it. I see what you did there.
On another note... OP stop going through the mission so fast...

It is hilarious, isn't it? People are quoting figures during a double XP weekend as some sort of evidence that the game is now well balanced with a smooth progression.
Any "progression" that takes over 6 months of gameplay to achieve has no place in a multi-player game. This isn't a single player RPG.

i'm well aware its bonus weekend, i'm just saying that even cut in half, it still more than an argala run...sheesh, I guess some ppl just won't be happy until you get hundreds of thousands of xp for doing nothing at all
No but it is becoming a single player MMO

Then why bringing up false data now...irrelevant as I see it. Come back on Monday after the bonus weekend and you will have "real" numbers to talk about.
considering you were the first to bring the subject up I could say the same thing to you
Super-ultra-long-grind was one of the hallmarks of the original generations of MMOs. Any time new MMOs come out, you get plenty of Everquest/etc nostalgia-dudes bemoaning about how everything these days is just handed to players, and how in their day it actually took effort to achieve things, blah blah blah. It was a central feature of games that wanted you to pay that monthly fee as long as possible.
So, yeah. Single player RPGs might have had some grind, but many MMOs had them beat by a mile. (as I think about my old WoW main who had more than 140 days /played, versus single-player RPGs that had 100-200 hours total in them. Over multiple playthroughs.)
MMOs with super-long grinds are going extinct. "Grind" is a game-killing disease. I hope this game recovers from this serious infection soon.

LOL..dont take it personal...prove your point on Monday that's all. If you want me to prove mine here's tribble and the few of us who have actually run it with no mirages as this bonus weekend is presented to be:

This is real and no white elephants hidden. People have actually already tested this. I will leave it at that
lol, so somehow data on a completely different server is somehow more accurate than what is on the actual holodeck right now?
on tribble the patrol CD was an hour and you had a choice of exp bonus boxes, not everything that was tested on tribble made in this patch and many things that did were obviously changed, your so-called "data" is just as useless if not more so
Dude if you dont know what tribble is...I will stop here...you must be a real noob, don't know how to read (see thread given above) or just not logical trying to make a pointless argument. Good luck with that and ADIOS
Transdimensional tactics isn't too bad if the team know what they're doing. ISA is also not bad.
you're the one who seems to be confused as to what tribble is, its a test server for changes that may or may not be added to the main server...we've already seen many times that's what is on tribble isn't always seen on holodeck "as is"
I know being called on your own hypocracy is upsetting but don't worry, given your personality i'm sure you'll get used to it

Yes the mind numbingly boring grind of Ahallalalala has been taken away but. . . .
If you care to play other aspects of the game you'd realise the rewards have been boosted there. .
I've managed to get one spec point this eve just from ques, doffin and one patrol.
So this isn't a nerf as such more a we've moved the rewards elsewhere so you can enjoy playing all aspects of the game not sit in Delta and just rinse and repeat.

Think everybody is just so disappointed that SP gain is so incredibly low. Cutting a fruit in half is simple, splitting hairs may not be.

in IS normal i got 4k, so that would be 2k normal. i understand that they said they will nerf argala and delta sector, but 2k for ISN, x3 more exp. my a**.
or even if this is x3 times more, it is ridiculous small. there is no grind my a** any more.
but whatever, as long as everyone is enjoying to get a spec. point ever 5 days.
