These are the first set of patch notes in a while where I didn't hate the majority of them.
While I'm not crazy about time-gating the sector patrol missions (if someone wants to grind Argalalalalalala for 72 hours straight until their eyes bleed, they should be able to do so), overall the rest of the changes I feel are for the better here.
We'll see if this keeps up, but the eternal optimist in me just gasped a breath.
"After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true. Except for a T5 Connie. That would be f*%#ing awesome." - Mr. Spock
I'm happy about the timegate. Everyone who whined and raged and made sig-pics about being "forced" to grind Arugula because they "need" every spec point got what they asked for. Nelson: HA-Ha!
Its because they added dilithium to everything which as they term it its a "time based currency" so like all the STF's there is a cooldown. Im not upset by this among other really good changes these patch notes were very nice and right before an XP weekend so that put me in better spirits at least cautiously.
From the patch notes, I'm happy. I didn't partake of any of the 'flaws', so am not adversely affected. I've only played by (first) Romulan post patch though, who is in the trenches of Kobali Prime (A single line of dialogue mentioning planetary shields so we can't nuke the suckers from orbit would be nice here) post patch though, so I reserve the right to whine about it.

I'm glad that someone's happy. With regards to the time gate, I'm not. I feel its unnecessary, yes I farmed Argala, but that was my choice, I set myself a target to aim for and for the most part I got where i wanted to be. I'll agree that rewards across other content needed to be raised, and with the current patch, its a step in the right direction. Again I'll agree this "need" for the spec points is some what irrational, they are an optional not a requirement at this moment in time.
The question now becomes, what happens when even more spec tree's are added and people eventually get to max these out? Are we going to see the same thing happening with these, as we did with the rep passives/traits. Stated that it was to reduce the gap between an experienced and time served player and a fresh level 50/60. From my point of view the rep revamp actually did me a favour, because it allowed me to undo some poor choices, and through some testing within my fleet we actually found that it didn't really make much of a difference in the grand scheme of things.
Overall, the communication we're getting from the Dev's now is great improvement on what we've had before. Although some more in depth explanations in why certain changes and the reasoning behind them would be welcome. But I do think the Dev's need to step back now and then and take a look at the bigger picture. Also a greater emphasise on Beta testing new content and features wouldn't be a bad thing. Also its nice to see a long list of bug fixes again, hopefully they keep coming.
