Questions for DEVS about crafting

I just had a question/idea for the crafting regarding certain weapons, specifically reputation weapons. Ive seen that due to the high dilithium cost (20k per weapon) and fixed modifiers/lower number of modifiers than crafted weapons, that the reputation weapons for starships are now rarely used by players unless they are playing around with a new prototype build or rainbow build. Would it be possible to take these rarely used and honestly over priced weapons and placed them in a specialized r&d weapons area, where players can craft their own versions of these weapons with modifiers they would use and with the same numbers of modifiers as normal crafted weapons? That would open up several new possibilities for ship weapon builds and bring these weapons back into front line use and also with the crafting give the players a few more options to make and also sell on the exchange.

Its just an idea and while I'm not holding my breath that this will ever happen, but IMO I think this would be a great idea and hope you do consider it.

    If a DEV does reply to you then good luck with that.
    Just an opinion, depending on your crafting level, if you have the ground weapons crafting quite high, you can make some decent stuff.
    Don't bother though, unless you are level 15 or higher than that in that area.
