now that you got what you asked for, months of single player-esq "progression" gates applied to the entire game, the months of spec grind to build up your characters over, watching that silly bar slowly drag across the screen to grant you a little extra epx gated power, and the fulfilment of everything you where asking for;
are you happy with the results you got?
are you happy with the systems you wanted as part of your "rpg experience"?
are you happy with the grind you demanded being bulit into the levelling?
or are you as fed up as those who wanted to play the games content to begin with?
Presuming this is in relation to the latest 'nerf' of Argala patrols...
To which I will answer, yes... I do welcome this approach, as an increase in rewards for activities, other than patrolling Argala, will mean that activities, other than patrolling Argala, will actually be far more worthwhile for progression post level 60...
Did you actually see that a significant number of XP rewards, outside of patrols, have been increased - not to mention dilithium rewards added?
Perhaps we should all wait until these changes have hit live, before presuming it's gonna make things worse...

Well said, +1. I can progress a little doing something I like instead of something I find boring but needed.
I am VERY happy thank you. Now I'm no longer forced to do the same stupid and boring patrol mission to gain a reasonable amount of XP. Now I can decide myself whether I want to replay some old missions singleplayer or do some PVE queues or an hour of battlezone with friends. All of which had their XP increased significantly. AND on top of that I gaining dilithium! So again, yes very very happy indeed.
Personally I think that "Grind" is a disease that kills MMOs.
When people say "Every MMO has grinding" I wonder... do those people accept being mugged because every city has crime? No? Oh.
The added grind has hit this game hard. The only people who support this years long grind are the kind of people who would buy a dog TRIBBLE if it had "Star Trek" written on it.
I am uncertain about how all these supposed changes will benefit players and the game .
What I see is a little benefit to those who wanted to play solo, but that benefit counters the supposed revival of the queues as some folks who played them may now find it more pleasing to do solo missions .
All in all I stand weary as I do on all things that Cryptic announce as "it's for the players benefit" .
I think the reason so many people are assuming you have ulterior motive and a childish axe to grind might be the extraordinarily loaded nature of your question.
But as far as it goes, I don't feel the need to rush to completion or the need to grind constantly, so for me the current end game specialization system is just a nice, general, and end-game optional way to reward players who continue to play after they reach level 60. It's not exactly what I'd like, but the game is better for having it.
It's not necessary for you to grind 60+ specialization points to actually participate in end game. Hell, it's not even necessary to be level 60 before participating in end game, so I really just think you're confused.

Results - Yes very pleased. I'm not done with content and waiting for more to come out. This gives them time to bring out new stuff.
Systems for RPG Experience - Yes. Would like more ground action on these patrols. Other than the Kobali action zone. To help mix it up a little more.
Grind on Leveling - What grind? I'm playing and having fun. This is not a time sink if you enjoy the game. If a person views it a time sink. Then why you playing to start with. Sounds like a person bored, or wanting to just fuss. Every game has a level of "grind" even consul games. I'm sure others fuss about those too.
Fed up like the Others - No! I'm not like the others. Who fuss and complain about little changes. The changes they yell Doom about didn't affect my gaming anyways. Just like now, you have players crying cause they can't be "forced" to do a Agarla Patrol a million times. That didn't effect me at all from the player's poor decision. As a player you have to adapt in order to keep playing. If you can't adapt then that is your own fault. All games requires a person to adapt from various things.

I am going to get rewarded for what I have been doing. I do maybe 1 Argala a day because of the daily mark bonus and an alt still not Tier 5 reputation. The rest is Tau Dewa, Aiding the Deferi, DBZ, and Undine Space because they are FUN to me. So I'm not going to complain hard about getting a boost to what I find fun. I will, however, not pop a champaign bottle on your bridge and celebrate. I would rather them not have robbed Peter (Argala) to pay Paul (everywhere else) because some people enjoy doing that too. It's not exactly what I asked for though that is how your question directs it to be answered. I asked for the nerf to be removed, not for it to be taken from X and given to Y so that now both X and Y are still not back to pre-nerf levels.
EDIT: And I certainly didn't ask for a 30 minute cooldown to do patrols. They can take that back before the patch and I won't be hurt at all.

yes, ulterior motive is correct. im disgusted at the manifest selfishness of people forcing solo/single player game systems into an mmo. and forcing people who want a functional mmo to be stuck dealing with single player rpg systems that break the game anywhere that isnt solo play.
tell that to the STF queues.
player group A no passive buffs, have trouble.
player group B all buffs active, crushing content.
ability to balance multi player content in an mmo around single player mechanics that inherently make players stronger just because of grind? non-existant.
Argala is not a team mission. You can do it solo. If you want a team mission, do all of the patrols with a team. They didn't take team content and turn it solo.
I love the game since DR , it actually gave me a reason to play. Those who dislike it, you know how to uninstall a game , right ? Allsow stop posting here , instead of doing usefull threads ,like builds and guides , to actually help a new player , you come here just to complain. Allsow those pro veterans that discover a exploit , instead of reporting it , you abuse it till it bleeds . And anything that hurts you or your playstile its a BUG , and you open X threads about it.
I will, however, not pop a champaign bottle on your bridge and celebrate. I would rather them not have robbed Peter (Argala) to pay Paul (everywhere else) because some people enjoy doing that too.
I dont have any actual numbers yet but from first sight Peter has been robed by a lot while Paul only gets a fraction of the payment. So where is the rest of the money?
300% SP increase toward PvE queued maps may as well be only 3-5k.
As far as SP gain and the means available to get them in game are concerned we rather seem to be robed than in any form paid.

I would rather have group A they are the smarter of the two. Most players could be decked out to the nines in a "Wizards of STO" super build and would still be nothing but dead weight. Give me four level 40 ships captained by players that know their stuff over someone who only claim to fame is the mass murder of the race that the Borg did not even want.
i dont give half a TRIBBLE about argala. there are plenty of threads about the symptoms of this grind nonsense on the forums, this thread is about the cause.
Then what team content are you on about? They increased the gains in STFs. They already had a time gate. They have since forever. So slightly bigger rewards and more XP/Spec in team content is breaking progression how? They nerfed Argala, a solo mission, and boosted everything else, including the team content.

For the record, I had to go through two different paragraphs to cobble together a complete thought on this. Not trying to be mean here, but just as a form of constructive criticism you should take a step back when you respond and ask yourself, "Will this guy be able to understand what I'm saying, or should I add details."
So, now by "RPG Systems" I'm coming to understand that you mean the reputation system? At least, that's my best guess here, as the reputation system provides passive buffs. Let me know if you mean a completely different system like character specialization points or ship specialization, premium/lock box character traits via gene-splicers, fleet consoles and weapons, or even recruiting Romulan Bridge Officers with superior Romulan Operative.
*shrug* Okay, I'll tell it to the STF queues that they are doable without passive buffs. In fact, YOU have just told them they are doable without passive buffs. The strongest condemnation that you can come up with is to explain that without passive buffs a group may have trouble. Which is so far from proving that it is ruining the experience that I'm not even sure what we're discussing.
Consider for the moment ANY other MMO-RPG and how it acts at end game. I'm going to use an example from one that I'm familiar with <name redacted>. Now, in <name redacted> the highest power gear is only available via group content. Sort of the opposite of what you're complaining about here. The PVE slanted gear is available through high level multi-player dungeons, called "raids" and the PVP slanted gear is available through high level multi-player duels called "arenas." End game character progression consists entirely of running those multi-player activities, or for single player content oriented players they can pursue "achievements" which are similar to "accolades" and rare cosmetic items for no perceivable power gain. Singleplayer content oriented players hit a hard wall.
In STO we now have a situation that rewards both group and solo play. But it still rewards group play more. Even after the next expansion, the number of Borg Neural Processors obtainable from the Deferi Adventure zone will be very limited in comparison to the number of Borg Neural Processors obtainable from running Advanced STF content, assuming you succeed.
ability to balance multi player content in an mmo around single player mechanics that inherently make players stronger just because of grind? non-existant.
Actually multi-player content is balanced based on the ability of the character by enforcing a very strict minimal performance level. Poorer players have ALWAYS had the ability to grind their way up to the minimal performance level via just hard work and the better players are able to reach those minimal goals with much less work. And not just in THIS mmo, but in ANY mmo that's the case.
To use your own example from earlier. If you're a good player you can run an advanced STF without "passive buffs" and succeed. But if you're not as good of a player, maybe you will need to grind those passive buffs to pull your own weight? Now ofcourse, there's nothing stopping the good player from obtaining those passive buffs, in fact he can even do so via the multiplayer content he has unlocked far earlier than the poor player and move on to the elite STF content.
So I guess the TL : DR version of this post would be this, "What are you talking about? Seriously, how is the multiplayer experience being hurt by the "RP System? And in fact, since I'm only about 80% sure you're talking about the reputation grind, can you clarify what you mean by the "RP systems?"
Just what are you grumbling about? My best guess is the existence of Specialisation Points and how long it takes to get them, am I right? If so, then I am very happy they're in. I like the continued 'levelling' they provide. Yes, I do think that each level should require say 20-30% less experience, but I'll manage.
Cryptic is much like the government these days, whenever you see a change coming you know it's gonna suck real bad!!!! Increased rewards in other spots are great but limiting the player, from playing the game as they wish is not a good thing, I'm seeing fleet and public areas emptying out more and more, maybe they are intentionally driving the game into the ground in favor of a new ip coming along they would rather do.
One thing that has surprised me though, and after speaking to a couple of fleet mates who grind planar attunement points in another mm which are essentially spec points. I'm surprised spec points don't get more expensive the more we buy. For example planar points are currently costing me around 500k xp each where as my friends are pushing over a couple of mil per point now.
But on a personal note. I'm not particularly happy with these changes. I'd rather be allowed to progress at my own pace. Now whether that means running 1 Stf per day or a hundred argala patrols. That should entirely be my choice. We were herded into the delta quadrants patrols to make cryptics metrics look good. Now that's no longer important, well today's patch notes tell it all really. It's good that xp from other areas is finally being raised. But I can't help but feel it's all been nothing more than a pointless exercise. Cryptic should have left well enough alone before hand.

This is my Risian Corvette. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
Progression got lost for me in ships tier 5 upwards - There's a bewildering array of ships across all factions and non factionals that seem to be far superior or inferior of each other.

All MMOs are like this, as they try to have stuff for everyone. If they are willing to take part of other stuff. Not all this content is made for team work. Way some are on their attitudes I rather not be part of the team, or having to wait for one of my friends to finally come on just to play. So its better to have something for both.
If you want to play in teams, then you can all you want. Don't muck it up for others who can't due to reasons.
