I have completed the Samsar set... now what?

So I now have the full 4 piece Samsar set. I have all rep at T5 and marks coming out of my nose. Aside from getting my crafting to lvl 15... (and then, why not 20?) what incentive do I really have to log in?

With the insta-fails on Advanced STFs and other long-lasting in-game glitches that seem to be 'working as intended' I am having an increasingly difficult time finding the motivation to log in these days other than for special events and, as mentioned prior, getting my crafting up for no other reason than to do it (I do feel lvl 20 craafting will be more important in the future)


My fleet, which is great, is comprised mostly of US-based gamers whereas I log in from Australia, so funding a full fleet roster at any given time is difficult. Replaying episodes or doing the dilithium runs gets boring fast... now with the added tweaks to science I'm not even excited to get my Sci off character up to 60. She's sitting at 52 currently.

I do enjoy the creative side and will probably work on a few foundry missions but even then, that will get boring as well I assume.

So... what do the rest of you do in this situation? I know I'm not alone in this.

    I'm slowly working on my first Secondary Spec, as it took a long time to fill up my Intel. Also... I am working on my most epic C-Store project ever... the Delta Pack. Already can see the finish line on that one too.

    Well, I'm posting this from Steam while working in the Foundry. So there's that. Try Foundry missions and enjoy some stories, maybe even try your hand at writing your own.

    Or, take a break from the game and go read a book.

    Yeah, I am working on an outline for a foundry project atm so there is that... it's really the only aspect of the game I haven't delved into fully yet.


    Books? I've heard of those.... they're made from trees or something, right? Like older versions of nooks?

    I've got some friends who already have it. And... who knows. Maybe I'm gonna be the first to grind one out. I don't know. But in my opinion its already worth it since its not all the same type of ship. Not to mention the 3 T5U tokens which I'm using on an Assault Cruiser Refit, Vesta, and Fleet Mogai. Most of my KDF ships were Mirror or Breen. Can't T5U my Kamarag and I never got used to my Mogh.

    And the way I see these C-Store projects... its a goal. Something to work towards.

    was debating that or the mega t6 command bc one myself

    Well... the Command Cruisers will give you ships for all three factions. However they're like the Dyson Destroyers. Same playstyle for all of them. The Delta Pack has different ship types, which is helpful for me when I got different characters flying different types of ships as their primary. But the choice is up to you.

    I think that is the BIGGEST elephant in the room. After you obtain everything you want, the question asked is, "What can I do with the gear?" Unlike the adaptive gear in "SWTOR", the endgame items in 'STO' have no purpose. You cannot use a T6 ship and/or reputation gear for leveling. Since you are already at the top, the incentive to continue to play is non-existent. 'SWTOR's' version of endgame gear is solely for PvP purposes; however, the beauty of the gear is that its completely optional. You can buy a level 10 piece of adaptive gear, within "SWTOR', and use it to level from 1-60. You cannot do that in 'STO'.

    If Cryptic didn't add level 60 (T6) gear, the level 50 (T5) gear could have finally had a greater purpose. Once you hit the level 60 mark, the top level gear should have been T5-U and T5.5-U. Cryptic could have sold T5-U and T5.5-U for $25, so they could make them a little affordable. You would have gotten more bang for your buck.

    Also, since you can only have (4) ground passives, (4) space passive, and (4) actives active, the push to complete all of the T5 reputation items is non-existent. After you complete two to three rep systems, you have everything you need to succeed. You literally hit the end.

    I recently acquired an old history book written by George P Fisher. It's a fascinating read, but a bit dry due to it's scholarly approach to the subject.

    Novels bore me. Sure they aren't always a total waste of time and can be entertaining, but I rarely have the urge to pick them up again after I read through it once.

    Here are some objectives for you :

    - 9lvl 60, 1 of each class for each faction, all maxed in specialisation, commandations (I heard lvl 5 should come), reputation with all sets, and everything MkXIV (Epic of course)
    - Everything in the C-Store unlocked
    - Reach 100000 zen
    - All accolades
    - Create some content via the foundry
    - Help to fill the Wiki

    - Do foundry missions, a lot of good ones around. Ask about some in the foundry section
    - Make a KDF char
    - Make a Romulan char
    - RP
    - Set your own goals and make them diverse for few different chars and work towards them. (for ex. - I want this char to have that ship, equiped with elite fleet phasers, this fleet gear, those special crafted consoles, etc.)
    - Hunt/work towards rare items - lockbox ships, special Doffs, rare/limited stuff and such
    - Once you're top-geared, regardless if you min-max or not - you should be able to do over 15-20k DPS, so maybe join some of those 10k, 20k channels and have a bigger player pool to play the queues you can't currently get to pop with
    - Assuming you're not playing extremely lot, a new season will crawl in and bring new things to do in STO

    IDK, just throwing around stuff. I play sometimes more, sometimes less - depending on my free time. What I personally do, and only get bored maybe once per year for a month or so, is building different characters from different factions with different stories. One char I build tailored to canon and when I'm done I do the other which is specialized for carriers, then the power-gaming one, PvP one and so on and on....
