Edit - Clarification - These rumors are BS. The Dev's have already addressed the Dilithium ones several months back.
This is for fun, nothing else. There are a lot more rumors floating about that could be added to the list, but these ones were the ones that were really over the top without being so far over the top as to be laughable. if people take life so seriously as to not get this post as nothing more than poking fun at the rumors, then that is on them. Get out once in a while. You are Not all
Francis! At least God I hope not.
We all realize that Cryptic and PW are a business and as such are in the business to make money. We respect that and for the most part don't fault them for it. However, when rumors like the following come along, albeit they mostly are just BS, questions are raised. While generally speaking none of these are likely to be true, it would be nice if Cryptic (PW) would confirm them as utter BS.
If Cryptic would rather just delete this post because some here think it to be too dangerous, then by all means I support Cryptic's action. Better to be safe than sorry. And my aplogies if asking if these BS rumors are just rumors. After all, no one should ask if a rumor is true or not since asking has the potential of scaring and offending some.
Current (or old) rumors surrounding up coming changes:
Cryptic (PW) please confirm or deny these insane rumors as BS;
1. New maximum dilithium cap of 4000 that can be earned per day for all players
2. New maximum dilithium refining cap of 1000 per day for Free To Play players.
3. New maximum dilithium refining cap of 4000 per day for monthly subscribers.
4. New maximum dilithium refining cap of 8000 per day for Life Time subscribers
5. Increased cost for all ZEN item (10% to 40%)
6. Monthly and LTS subscribers will no longer receive the 500 Zen stipend.
7. All PVE missions will require 100 to 500 dilithium to play. (This is needed in order to prevent players from leaving the mission before its completion.)
8. All re-playable missions will now require either dilithium or a pass. Passes may be purchased via C Store)
9. New Pass and Season Pass system to be implemented. Passes are obtainable in 3 packs from the C store and will allow players to replay missions. Season passes are purchased via the C store and allow player to replay missions for the length of the season pass. (3mths)
10. Free To Play players will be limited to a maximum level of 40.
11. Free To Play players will no longer be able to access PvE Queues unless they have purchased either a pass or a season pass from the C Store.
12. A small dilithium charge will now be required in order for players to place items onto the exchange.
13. All items purchased on the exchange will be subject an in game energy credit tax of 10% of purchase price.
14. Life Time Subscriber program is being phased out and all current LTS players will need to migrate their accounts to a monthly subscription in order to retain subscriber benefits.
15 Subscriber benefits are subject to review and are currently being re-evaluated for cost benefit.
We at Perfect World appreciate your business and will continue to listen to player feed back and endeavor to make positive changes to our products that benefit all of you.
- Some of these date back about a year - and some surfaced on Reddit and in game chat just before DR. I especially love the ones that talk about limits on Dilithium (The Dev have already said this is NOT going to happen, yet these rumors still persist. -
- To the flame war specialists (trolls) who are just posting in an attempt to surpass the last flame troll's post; go nerd rage go!

Where did these rumors come from?
Unless people on the forums are so satisfied with the present state of STO that they feel it's a better, more productive use of their time to get internet outraged over High School-grade rumor mills.
This post is utter fabricated flame bait. I follow everything, including stock prices and I have never seen anything to suggest that one word of the OP's post is based in realism.
In fact it's quite the opposite, and the poster either needs to provide some sort of citation, or he needs to delete the post.
Why are you fear-mongering with this utter nonsense ? ? You looking for attention ?
Were the voices in your head also the ones who informed you of these upcoming "changes" ?
Smh
You know what this place is like, any thread has venting potential. This'll probably de-rail into some sort of argument soon enough.
Credit where credit is due, the list in the OP is quite impressive. I'm however reasonably sure that Cryptic aren't that stupid.
Had to fix a few typos on your post, op.
To be honest,, if PW/Cryptic implemented even 2 or 3 of these changes the game will die a horrible death. I am a lifer and although I would be mildly upset at loosing the stipend I would still log in almost everyday like now. To charge dilithium for replaying a mission? That might be a killer for me.
Many of the other points are just ridiculous!!! If PW/Cryptic wanted to kill the game this would be the way to go about it. However.. why would they kill a game they at least seem to be putting resources in to. When episodes and updates, and NEW stuff STOPS completely for more than a few months.. then I will get worried.. till then I will not get worked up over speculation and rumor.

FYI Apparently some guy on Reddit noticed they reworded the saucer sep. console in a way that could mean a T6 version coming.
I like THAT rumor MUCH better!!! I just suck $120 on the command ships,, but a T6 Galaxy? I could sink another $30 in to!!!
Dear Mr. C. Ryptic: Please shoot down all these rumors,, and neither confirm nor deny *wink wink* the T6 Galaxy!!!

Ter Lantern ker lo Abin Sur,
Taan lek lek nok--Formorrow Sur!
Not that any one F2P game uses that entire list of restrictions.
What even makes these rumors? It looks more like baseless conjecture to me. Leave junk found on reddit on reddit.
Real comedians actually try.
I suspect most of the forum barnacles would consider this a huge improvement to the game, as all they really want to do is channel their inner 5-year old and pretend they're Captain Kirk for an hour, damn the unfortunate players who get matched with them in an advanced/elite queue.
Critical thinking time:
1-4: Perennial rumor that's been around since season 5, even predating the actual free-to-play launch. Consider its age alone, since Cryptic can barely manage a season-to-season consistent gameplan (the Undine battle zone still labels red as Voth controlled, giving away its original season 8 intent). If it was ever true, they'd have already done it.
5. We already know the bulk of their income comes from new items, the existing catalog just provides a trickle. In that respect, we *have* seen a cost increase with the shift from T5 to T6 ships and the appearance of the very expensive "mega packs" with both expansions and the tripple-tripple packs for Dyson and Command ships.
6. The stipend is basically marked-up zen for them - $15 for 500 instead of $5 for 500. The rewards are old and the only new thing that's been added since the 1000 day rewards was Talaxians, the equivalent of a typical 500 -1000 zen purchase, and again, the bulk of income comes from new items, not residual sales on the existing catalog.
7. Actually a poorly-received player suggestion on this very forum.
8-9. Another perennial rumor, see 1-4
10. There's a problem with implementing this after many free players achieved higher levels. If you think about it for a few minutes you'll see it. The only way to achieve this would be another level bump that only goes to subscribers.
11. See 8-9, related. However, 11 has a different connotation to it. FTP players drive STO's revenues by buying zen - the zen they buy does not materialize for free, other players buy it. You don't want FTP players just generating all the dilithium in the world easily, but you *do* want them generating it, smoothly and consistently enough to buy zen.
12-13. Another prennial rumor. This one does have an air of plausibility because it's what they did with Neverwinter, however, they went a different direction with the dilithium equivalent in Champions which was never ported back to STO, either.
14. How many of the above explicitly mention LTS? Anyway, phasing out the *sale* of LTS's is a remote possibility (I'll explain why it's remote in a moment), but withdrawing benefits of existing ones is unlikely, if only for the risk of recent buyers issuing chargebacks on their cards (they can ban the accounts, but the money is lost and many processors penalize you if you get too much in chargebacks). Very old LTS holders will have limited options for restitution except to quit, more recent ones outside of the chargeback window can be ignored until they quit (they can try a lot of things but if PW doesn't want to give them a refund they're probably SOL), but ultimately this is an immediate financial hit to the company just from chargebacks.
Now, as to why phasing out their sale is also remote: Again, new items provide the biggest income, but the next one (based on company behavior, devs haven't explicitly said this as they have about new items) is specials. They still have two LTS sales a year, usually in a gap between new C-store items. Their role in providing money for the company is pretty clear. That's not to say more frequent ship pack releases or more frequent expansions with big 10+ ship collection packs couldn't take its place, of course, I did say it was remote, not impossible. After 12-13 this is the most plausible on the list, just not in the form written.
15. Again, old items vs. new ones. The money they're making on Command Battlecruisers is going to be orders of magnitude past what they're making on Chimeras anymore. One plausible change is making slots disappear when you go back to free. Character slots already do this (but not characters in them if they're not empty), as does the EC limit. However, I suspect doing this would cost programmer hours while not actually providing a financial benefit.
I know I recognized it as such and kept my post in the same vein. Seems we have a similar sense of humor....:D

you may as well ask if the moon is a soviet spyplane that was invented by dinosaurs before they were convienantly wiped out by a Chinese guided missile designed to look and act like an asteroid strike and then asking if it were true.
if cryptic were upto something you will find out about it eventually on their terms, not because someone started a rumor mill.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Then your choice of words were only stoked the fire.
EDIT YOUR ORIGINAL POST LOSER.

you have an odd sense of "fun"
this thread has done nothing but spread your unfounded rumors...nothing more
in otherwords, "i started a spam thread and realized its turned into a potential flame war and i want to troll in the process."
that will go down well. you have fun with that... "fun".
