Purple bugs are a whole teams responsibility

In bug hunt, everyone should know that you must shoot the purple bugs on sight.
If even one gets through intact, it fails the mission.
In the team its everyones responsibility to get these bugs, not just 1 or 2 of the players in the team. For those that do not know, Please remember that.

A tip for newbies in this mission. Use keys 1 and 2 for firing weapons. 3 for health hypos and 4 for shield charges. Keep an eye on your health and shields, and as they drop, press the appropriate numbered key to replenish it. Using this method is a way to help you survive and not let the whole team down.

They're currently bugged and get a super headstart sprint. They also run super fast and you can fail the first part in 4 seconds.

That's not working as intended, and hopefully gets freaking fixed.

I see what your saying, but i have never had that problem, normally my sprint is fast enough.
Also if you use a machine gun or rifle, you can get the purple bug at long range.
I use the Borg machine gun, and it works fine at this.

Supposedly if you so much as move at all during the warm-up phase before the barrier drops, the bug gets to start as soon as you move. If you hold put and don't move until the entire shield drops, it reacts normally... so I'm told by several people in-game.

they do spawn in the same spot every time so after a few runs you can catch them as they spawn.

A simple Chroniton Mine field at the right place and you don't need anybody to kill them. Never rely on pug members!

Nobody in team shouldn't cross invisiwall before timer goes to zero

Also ppl, in NTTE, don't fire Concusive Tachyon pulse on Project Leader(Boss) it will regen his shields to full after effect is done.
Save that ability for the waves in between boss mfight(portal closing)

I mean if you move from the spawn spot, the bug timer starts counting. And the bug runs super fast to catch up to the timer, or somesuch wierd coding nonsense.

So when you spawn, normally you hit OK to clear the dialog box, and run over to the barrier to wait for it to drop, right? That's what triggers the bug/glitch. If you spawn and don't move 1 inch in any direction, the bug/glitch doesn't trigger.

That's how it has been described to me, and I don't know if it's a complete picture of the story/issue at hand but I *have* had the bug run so fast nobody could catch it, and the mission failed inside 4 seconds [starting the clock as soon as the barrier drops from the spawn]. It has been happening quite often, according to other players in NoP and PESTF.

No. you can safely run to near barrier, but as soon as you even touch it, alarm bug is starting its run.
Wait for the timer to go down to 0 and then cross the barrier.

Thank you. That's a new variation I hadn't heard yet. I think we're all guilty of pressing up against the barrier at times. It's a poor mechanic. "Oh.. I don't want you to go yet, so you can't, because... magic!"

I'd much rather you gathered on a transport pad and when the timer counted down you just beamed in to the cave.

I've never had a problem with alarm bugs because I just make it my responsibility to kill them. I can always murder them before they have much of a chance to get away. I realize that in a PUG, if I don't do this, possibly nobody will.

I don't mind, personally. The only good bug is a dead bug :)

Yeah, I always just assume that no one is going to kill the damn thing so I just make it my job to kill it.

the Elachi module is good for stopping them too.

What sucks is when I crash to desktop before I kill it...I usually come back to a 'Mission Failed'

This is the third or fourth post OP where you're having issues with PUGS.
Try joining a fleet or channel where you can play with people who try.
Just dont see that other 90% of the players who don't visit the forums getting the message.

Not really, but it's important to keep the group together; the first one triggers based on proximity, so if one rambo gets far enough ahead, then yeah, it can seem to be as you describe.
That's not working as intended, and hopefully gets freaking fixed.
It's pretty apparent you're supposed to CC the first one. But that kind of dovetails what I mention above; chances are that one rambo who will race out ahead either didn't bring CC or can't be bothered to use it appropriately.

I use site-to-site ensnare to grab them. Works like a charm.

Unless they've changed it recently, you have to miss *TWO* purple bugs to fail the objective; there are 4 points that a purple bug will spawn (before the first barrier, between first and second barriers, between second and third barrier, and between the third barrier and the drop to the mini-queen; number 4 doesn't show if you get the first 3). Also, in all cases, the purple bug is very near the front or player facing side of the area, so there really is no reason they can't be focus-fired on right away...

Nah, he's right. There's a fourth bug that will spawn if you miss one of the first three.
