Command cruiser cannons

I have a question about the new Command cruisers being able to use dual cannons. Since they can mount them, has anyone tried using dual cannons on their new command cruisers yet? are they a good idea? it seems since they can mount them, maybe criptic has made a cannon friendly cruiser and there just waiting on someone to find a good build for it? I'm really tempted to try it out, but before i waist my dilithium ai'm asking for advise. the idea is interesting. ty

Problem with cannons on the Command Battlecruisers is the same problem with cannons on any cruiser...

They don't turn quickly enough to use them effectively...

When you've only got a 45o fire arc, you need to keep your enemy in that small area, you need to be able to turn... Cruisers are usually too sluggish to do that effectively...

Dual Beam Banks are a much better choice for cruisers generally...
The entitlement is strong in these forums...

If you want to see that for yourself, buy some white XII dual cannons or DHCs from the exchange, they are dirt cheap. Take them in to a red alert, normal STF or patrol, and see if you can keep them pointed on target.

I loaded mine with 2 fleet RCS MK XII consoles and have no problem turning fast enough to use cannons. Though not as fast as an escort, still fast enough for my enjoyment.
