Concentrate Firepower

This ability needs a buff for the lower rankings.

it lasts 10 seconds.
mk1: 1 random person gets a high yield every 6 seconds
mk2: 1 random person gets a high yield every 4 seconds
mk3: 1 random person gets a high yield every 2 seconds

this means
mk1 grants only 1 THY
mk2 grants only 2 THYs
mk3 grants a solid 5 THys

i think mk1 should be every 4 seconds and mk 2 lasts 5 seconds, then it would be 2 and 3 instead of 1 and 2 THYs, that, or extend the buff to 15 seconds. mk3 is perfect where it is

    The Concentrate Firepower debuff lasts 15 seconds.

    The HY1 buff placed on the random player lasts 10 seconds.

    CF1 can grant 2 HY1s.
    CF2 can grant 3 HY1s.
    CF3 can grant 7 HY1s.

    Bort's mentioned looking into the duration...
    The damage dealt by both Call Emergency Artillery and Ambush Marker (ambusher vessels) is under scrutiny for a probable buff. We're still gathering more information on these abilities' current behavior before making the change, so if anyone has more parses like the ones provided here by Virusdancer, please post them.

    The duration of Concentrate Firepower is also under review.

    There's also the matter of...CF damage showing up in the combatlog. It's random. The HY1 shows as a HY1. Folks not using any projectiles, no pets, no kinetic at all...are doing kinetic damage from CF...er...somehow.
    CF1 should be 1 HY every 6 sec, CF2 should be 1 HY every 4 sec, and CF3 should be 1 HY every 2 sec...

    ...but yeah, it's a random player - whether they have any torps or not. Would be nifty if that could do a torp check first, so even though it would still be a random player - at least it would be a random player with an actual torp. Imagine a CF3 where it keeps HY1'ing the guys without torps? Meh...

    That's curious about the HY2 overwriting the HY1. I was actually getting back into the alphabetical issue where if I got a HY1 it was taking precedence over my TS2.

    edit: In thinking about what you said there with players receiving the HY1 from the logs, er...how would you see that if they didn't have any torpedoes?

    Aha, I found somebody that did not use any torpedoes that had four Concentrate Firepower I hits...course, those are the increased damage from torps - because the HY1 will show for any torps where the person gets the HY1. So why did this guy have CF1 hits without torps...

    But then again, looking through that parse at the 12 other CF1 hits that were registered - none of them made any sense either even though they had torpedoes, the CF1 damage just appears randomly in the parse.

    Just what is that CF1 damage that's showing up? Cause I can see the "Some Torpedo - Heavy I" / "Some Torpedo - Salvo I" for folks getting the CF HY1 (obvious that the ship wasn't carrying the HY1 based on the other abilities used)...

    ...but what is that CF1 damage then?

    Reroute Power From Life Support causes you to suffer a temporary Cooldown Penalty - it's definitely not a buff. As to whether or not that trade-off is currently worth the cost... well, that's matter we're open to hearing more feedback on. We can definitely consider improving the ability if it's seen as unanimously inferior to other Bridge Officer Ability choices.

    On a more generic "FYI" sort of note, I figured I'd pop into this thread and tell all concerned parties about some upcoming changes we're making to Command Bridge Officer Abilities. Hopefully all of these will end up appearing in a patch either this week or next.

    Call Emergency Artillery:
    - AOE Damage increased by 60% at all ranks
    - AOE Radius increased from 2km to 3km around each Artillery Vessel

    Ambush Marker:
    - Ambusher Ship damage increased at Rank II and III, by 25% and 50% respectively

    Phalanx Formation:
    - Markers are no longer visible to opponents in PvP, and do not grant their buffs to PvP opponents

    Rally Point Marker:
    - Instant Shield Healing value increased by 50%
    - The Hull and Shield Healing values can now be increased using Hull Repair and Shield Emitters skills, respectively.

    Concentrate Firepower:
    - Duration extended from 15sec to 20sec
    - Free "High Yield I" Mode now only triggered by Torpedo hits (to ensure it is not granted to a player that cannot use it)
    - Any ally that receives the free High Yield I Mode will also instantly have all torpedo cooldowns reset
    - Fixed a bug that was preventing the extra Kinetic Damage from reliably being added to Torpedo hits

    those are some nice changes!!!

    concentrate firepower will be great when using pets that have torpedoes and it will be awesome to see how it works with the omega torpedo. I already love using it with the Enhanced Bio Torpedo, I often get 2-3 HYs out of it in a row.
