As an fed engineer with a strong focus on ground combat i play ground content whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Lately however i have grown a bit bored with running the same ground stf/warzone over and over again.
Do you folks know of any good ground missions (either foundry or patrol) to help relieve my boredom?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

If you want to massacre Klingons.... you could play my mission "B'Vat's Legacy" :P
Haven't seen that one in the foundry. I'll give it a try.

Hive elite and bug hunt elite.................All of the rest are so easy they are boring or have stupid fail condititions that pugs trigger all the time
The warzones and foundry missions are beyond easy but you can find some good story in the foundry with a needle detector for the hay stacks
Jellico....Engineer ground.....Da'val Romulan space Sci
Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac
Leva........Tactical ground.....Koj Romulan space Eng
JJ-Verse will never be Canon or considered Lore...It will always be JJ-Verse
I rather liked Defera Invasion, before it broke with DR. Not sure if it was ever fixed, but I don't think so.
For a bit more of a challenge, I suggest revisiting storyline missions like Cold Storage, or The New Link, or even Boldly They Rode. It's lower-ranked (the drops aren't as good) but the Wasteland missions are actually rather fun... You can just use it as a battlezone, which is basically what it was designed to be.
Well let me ask you this; what ground missions are you CURRENTLY playing/sick of?
Perhaps i overlooked one or two, but here's a list:
- Zaria mining mission
- Colony Invasion
- Federation Starbase Incursion
- Assimilation (mission. Old version was more enjoyable)
- Voth battlezone (not difficult, but swarmers annoy)
- Kobali Prime (open world and episodes)
- Defense of Starbase 57 (foundry. Old school borg combat)
- Bug Hunt Elite
- Nukara transdimentional tactics rlite
- Undine Infiltration Elite
- The Big Dig (solo edition through private queue)
- New Romulus (The tal Shiar base and the cave. Don't recall names of missions at the moment)
- Nimbus dailies
- One too many (spotlight foundry)
The borg ground queues are decent, but hardly start through pugs.
Any other missions would be great. (No objections to mine trap queue going through either)
Edit: forgot Defend Rhi Station Elite

One of the few aspect of ground combat i dislike: melee.
I'm a bl**dy engineer, not a caveman.

I use lunge and sweeping strikes on my klingon tac, but that's as far as melee goes on my characters.
Repulsor shields and juggernaut from commando specialization knock my opponents down and as they crawl back up they step on my freshly laid minefield. Who needs melee.
Your foundry mission was good fun though.
Any other missions and foundry i overlooked?

Newbies, aren't those the things one eats for breakfast?

I've decided that I'm going to try and make STO my own. I'm not looking for challenges with metrics or carrot and sick rewards anymore. I take a lot more pleasure in the challenge of lifting up other players. Those who don't want to learn get dragged along, and those who do want to learn make cool new friends.
That's why I stay around. It's a satisfying pursuit.

A worthy goal. If there is a newbie then i try to help out where possible.
Noobs are a entirely different matter.
Having said that, it's rare to see people use the team chat nowadays. How to assist when they don't use the team chat.
Back to the topic at hand though, any good ground missions out there?

Give Defend Rhi Station Elite a try. Currently my favourite non Borg PvE.
Its a nice and team oriented map. I found it to often succeeds in pugs because its not that DPS intense and a single individual can basically do 40-60% on his own when he is good and thereby having a huge impact on the positive outcome. With a prepared group, even with mixed level of skill and experience, its almost a certain win if the team applies a minor strategy.
The mission is also incredibly short ~5m and rewards nicely (~2k+Dil/Salvage/Mats). Alts make CD times and fails irrelevant or painless.
With the undine reputation cryptic sadly failed to bring back terradome to game. Aside from some bugs it had cool ground elements.

Thank you for the suggestion, but sadly that is one of the missions i failed to mention.
Played that mission so often the Elachi flee the moment i step into the arena. Well, not quite but close enough.

Only this caveman.

I usually shoot at things... until they get in melee range... and Klingons usually do. Then it's stabby time!
Did you do the mission on nimbus where you get to fight the entire Bar? hehe. That was a fun fight.
