Why are there no visual effects on the Kobali Deflector and Impulse Engine?

This is becoming a disturbing trend. There are no unique visual effects associated with the Kobali Deflector or Impulse Engine when equipped on your ship. Cryptic also lacked visuals on the Solenae set. Even the Delta Alliance space set wasn't that impressive, some kind of brown shield texture, and green engine/deflector which we had already got with the Counter Command set. I hope the Kobali shield has a unique visual at least.

Don't get lazy on us Cryptic, some of us look forward to seeing what unique effects are associated with space sets. We like the option to customize our ships look through these unique effects. Please don't slack off on space sets visuals.

    What visuals should there be?

    The unique visuals ARE on the ship itself... the unique impulse trail, the look of the hull

    The set itself may not make other ships look like a Kobali ship

    and probably just as well

    It looks good for a Kobali ship but I don't want to see that on other ships... 'cept maybe the impulse trail

    You do know you can disable any visuals from an engine, shield or deflector, even console like the assimilated module one, right?


    And bad news, people, the shield has no visuals either. Disappointing, but not unexpected, sadly. I still wished this happened.

    And if someone says "well, the Kobali and the Solanae sets need no long grind, so that's why they don't have new visuals", I can point to the Reman, Breen, and Jem'Hadar sets.

    Its a free set... so far almost no free set has visuals, besides the breen and the jem'hadar.. the others are rep ones, and those do have visuals... not overly unique as of late but they have it..

    Would have been cool to, at least, have a shield visuals.
    Well excuse me for having enormous flaws that I don't work on.

    Personally, I don't think it is a matter of Cryptic getting lazy so much here, as it is making Reputation Sets have greater appeal for one, and by not creating a new appearance for every new episode reward set, it means Cryptic can pump out more of these sets in the future, more often...

    Think about it, before the Solanae set, how long had it been since episodes gave set rewards? Close to 2 years maybe?

    Creating visuals takes time, and if Cryptic go and create new visuals every new episodic set, that's time that could have been spent on other content...

    I personally have no issues with the free episodic sets having no visual effects, if it means other content is developed faster, albeit however slightly...

    How did the Solane set 'never work right'? It never had a visual effect, period... Only the Dyson Reputation set had visuals...
    The entitlement is strong in these forums...

    The Solanae set never had any visuals, therefore it couldn't work as such. The only visual thing it does at all has something to do with its engines having a triggered effect which makes your impulse trail blue for a bit. That's all.

    Why? Workload, there are so many ships in game by now, and for each and every variant combinatin there needs to be a texture painted.

    ok so I am a moron I was thinking the Obelisk Subspace Rift Warp Core that had the visuals and you are correct the Solanae set does not so I do appoligize
