I got some weird issues with D3D this morning. Reloading the game kept the same errors creeping back in. Rebooted my machine, seems to have cleared it up. Looks like whatever happened ate the graphics down to the OS level.
it is still happening despite rebooting, updating windows, rolling back video card drivers, re verifying game file integrity, I am going to get a nerve tonic for my toon and do the special dance on every disconnect. Might as well have fun with it right? :P
It wasn't as frustrating when it happened in sector space or on the ground in social zones, but being dropped from the game right at the -end- of STFs and Borg alerts, thus losing out on mark packages, that's more than mildly annoying.
Yeah the game is constantly crashing for me since the anniversary started. Every instance I'll crash, every time i'm in dyson i'll crash, and a lot of the time moving maps in sector will crash.

I have been having this problem too since the start of the anniversary event. It's more frustrating than most bugs. Very disappointing and I hope they fix it soon. Some acknowledgement that this is a problem would be helpful too.
Chiming into this one as well. Ever since the Anniversary patch I've been seeing "Gameclient.exe has stopped working" at regular intervals.
Sometimes its preceded with a momentary freeze up of the client before the crash and other times I can be sitting doing nothing (last night I was just parked up outside Argala) and it will keel over.

Frustrating to say the very least!
Had this happen on a Windows 7 system that's 4 years old and a Windows 8.1 new system I built in January.
I logged on today and went to go redesign my bridge officers' outfits. The client crashed on me 3 times so far, while I was making them. I can somewhat deal with the "Server Not Responding" most times I'm in a loading screen.. Or the occasional lag spikes. Which gets on my nerves. Especially trying to run through the 5 second moving platforms in the Harry Kim mission. I don't what's going on. If its something with STO or my laptop. But I don't like when I'm in the middle of doing something and then start over because the client crashed. -.- I also forgot to mention that when I start up the client again. It keeps asking me to verify my files. Any ideas what is going on?

Unfortunately not. I was also unable to find any kind of acknowledgment on topic from the devs or the publisher.
The game crashes on my end 2-3 times/hour on all various activities. Sometimes the crashed game asks me to file a bug report. Sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes I do that and sometimes I dont cuz it takes time and abandoning my team under current pve game conditions feels impolite.
On some post I have read that it started with the anniversary event so I have the slight hope that it vanishes the moment it is over. I dont know but if I take the reaction from official sides into account I bet ther devs do as well.

I see.. Hmm. Yeah it asks me to file a report. I understand. I have been in that situation too. In a different MMO though. Hmm, I guess all I can do is wait as I play the game. Thank you for the reply back.
I've been getting some "Gameclient.exe has stopped responding" crashes lately since the anniversary patch, but there's a strange pattern that they seem to follow for me.
I'll be playing along, but it seems that at some point (usually the first time I am in a combat-heavy zone like a PvE Queue or a patrol with lots of activity), the game will hang and Windows will pop up that error. If I immediately load the game up again, I can then play as many PvE Queues as I like for as long as I like and there will be no further crashes.
I'm almost tempted to believe this is some sort of a memory leak? It's strange that if I boot the game up right after it has crashed, it will not crash again, unless I leave it closed for a long time.
